A couple of empty nesters

Nadia and Ellis Nelson had come to Dr. Darke's office for couple's counseling. Seems now that their youngest child had gone off to college, Ellis wanted to stop paying for a maid and have Nadia do most of the housework since she had been a stay-at-home mom. He said he would chip in, but being a contractor and builder, sometimes he worked over 50 hours a week.

Nadia said they had enough money to keep the maid, and she had grown accustomed to her lifestyle. She could spend time playing tennis with friends, volunteering with her women's group, and working in her flower garden.

Ellis counter that if they saved money on the maid, he could retire earlier and they could travel more, and he could give the business over to his oldest son.

Dr. Darke listened, but he was bored. "Has this affected your sex life?"

"Oh you don't know the half of it," said Ellis.

"Shush!" said Nadia.

"We are at a counselor," said Ellis, "and it was_ your _idea."

"I think I can help," said Dr. Darke. "Let's try some deep relaxation therapy."

The couple agreed.
