A building inspector

Alexis swung around to see a strange man entering in a uniform. She froze in shock. The man froze, looking at her. Then, he seemed to find himself and begin speaking.

"You must be Alex right?" He asked.

"Uh... yes..." Alexis said.

She never, ever went by Alex, but it happened occasionally that people called her that.

What Alexis didn't know was that Jasmine had spoken to this man a few days ago. He was an inspector calling to see when to schedule a visit. Jasmine had already been working on this scheme though, so lined it up with this afternoon when her plan was to go into effect.

"I might be in an important zoom meeting, but my little brother Alex will be there." Jasmine explained to the inspector.

She was actually carefully listening from upstairs, enjoying hearing her prank come to fruition!

"I'm an inspector, I'm going to be taking a look around the house, okay buddy." The man said to Alexis...
