A bracelet

It was a silver bracelet. It had a grey strip around the middle of it.

"Put it on," Mark suggested. Alyssa shrugged, and did so. She opened the bracelet and attached it on her wrist just under one of the hand cuffs.

"Good. Now turn it clockwise."

Alyssa was a bit confused, but complied with this suggestions too. She gripped the bracelet with her other hand, and turned it away from her.

And then her hand fell off.

Alyssa let out a shriek as she saw her left hand swing away from her wrist and dangle under her right, still attached by the cuffs. The bracelet itself had cut in two, and where the grey strip had been, it was now green.

"Don't worry, It's only temporary," Loretta assured Alyssa as she gave her hand a tentative shake.

"What uh...happened?" Alyssa asked, unable to believe her eyes.

"Its a new technology we're perfecting. A way to temporarily sever body parts."

"Why?"

"Why? Well some people have a fetish for it. And it technically counts as bondage, so we were brought here and given funding."

Alyssa explored the half of the bracelet still on her arm. The silver metal covered the entirety of her stump, probably through some really advanced kind of magic, Alyssa thought.

"So you want to walk around without a hand for a week?"

"Oh more than that. We'll supply you with a whole range of bracelets, and you can experiment with different combinations."

Alyssa nodded. "I see. Well, I'm glad I picked this option as my punishment. I am always happy to help people out."

Mark pulled out one the lab desk drawers and plopped it onto the counter. "Splendid. Now pop all these on and then we can show you around."

In the drawer were various bands of various sizes. Alyssa grabbed them one by one and found where they went. Another one went on her other wrist. Two on her ankles. Two higher up her arms, two on her thighs, and finally one around her neck.

"The neck one seems rather scary."

"We know. But that's the one we've perfected the most. Don't worry, you won't have a problem with that one."

Alyssa then held up her hanging hand. "And uh, how do I put this back on?"

"Oh right. Just place the two pieces together and it should auto-lock.

Alyssa picker up her hanging hand and rested it against the other half of the band. She felt the bracelet snap back into place, and the green light turned back to grey.

Mark and Loretta were ready for the tour now, but Alyssa wanted to try out one more thing first. She reached her hands up to the neck.

"Which way was it again? Clockwise or anti-clockwise?"
