A border fort

The journey's long and arduous, and it doesn't help that every few minutes one of your captors pauses to gratuitously kick you. At last, though, you come into view of what appears to be a small fort for some kind. It's pretty heavily fortified for such an isolated place - surrounded by wooden palisades and adorned with bullseye lanterns that shine out in the gathering dark.

The gatekeepers give the hunting party the most cursory of checks before allowing them in, and with a couple more barked orders from the leader, you're dragged towards the largest building and down a couple of flights of stairs to a dark, damp underground area, where they throw you in a cell and lock the door. Brilliant. You're in jail.

The jailer soon makes herself known to you - she's a particularly cold elf who keeps tossing her keys up in the air in a manner which soon becomes intensely annoying. You nod through her various admonitions and reprimands (as best you can understand them - her Southern isn't very good) and wait until she leaves before breaking down. You cross your legs, hang your head, and let the tears fall.

After a few minutes a voice from the corner of the room pipes up. "You'll get used to it." Startled, you turn around. You weren't aware you had company...
