A bit of the truth

Price told Kallus to stand outside as she entered her office. She took a seat behind her desk. Sabine stood at attention. The door hissed closed. “What is this ‘urgent news’ I’m hearing about?”

“My C.O. gave me orders to find you. We found a girl naked on the side of the street. She said she was robbed out of her own clothes. I was told to find out what to do with her, I left and heard blasterfire. I returned and found my squad on the ground, no naked girl.”

“Hmm. Very good of you to inform me, rather than die with your squad or alone at the hands of a mere nudist. I will send a party out to find and eliminate said nudist. My thinking is that she’ll stick out like a sore thumb.” Price pushed a button on the commas and sent troopers out. She pulled a bottle of merazane gold from a drawer in her desk along with a small cup. “So tell me, what convinced you to join the empire?”

“The need to wipe away the scum and villainy of the galaxy and to grasp the chokehold of the rebellion.” Sabine said, generically.

“I figured a thin, busty woman such as yourself would have their mind set on a... different occupation.”

“As I said, the rebels must be put to a stop. Honor matters most.”

“My dear, I was simply complimenting you. But I admire you loyalty to your savior.” She took another drink from her cup,“You are a little pretty to be a patrolman. For some reason or other, they tend to make the pretty ones officer or ISB. But I guess you are but a fighter.” She stood up from her seat and walked around the desk. She circled Sabine. “I see now that it passes down the line.”

Sabine looked at her nervously,“Miss?”

Oh, it’s nothing to be ashamed of. Most Wrens have it. Usually the females, but the males make up for it with something else. I’m surprised I did not see it sooner.” She removed the helmet and placed it on the table. She held a comlink to her mouth. “Kallus, enter.”

He did so, looking at the back of the stormtrooper. Price looked him in the eyes.
