A Welcoming

Katara couldn't tell much about what was happening from her limited viewpoint but what she did know is that the chief walked around and stopped behind her for a few moments. As much as she wanted to roll over and shut her legs she could only stay there and let him see everything, there's no way she could find Aang and her brother on her own in this endless swamp. She needed their help.

Finally, the chief spoke "Katara of the Southern Water Tribe, I am grateful that you have blessed us with your presence. You may stand." Katara rose quickly and turned to face the chief. His gaze lingered on her breasts for a few moments and then he spoke "It is not often someone so young and beautiful visits our tribe and I am happy you have chosen to respect our ways by shedding your clothes."

Hold on, did he just say chose? Honuk said it was illegal, she thought. "Tell me now, why have you come to us, child?" the chief said.

"I've come to ask your help in finding my friend and my brother. They're lost in the swamp and I don't know if I'd ever be able to find them on my own. Please help me."

"Very well, child." the chief said. He turned to face Honuk and it was as if a fire nation general had taken his place, as his voice now commanded attention from all in the room. "Honuk, take a search party and the young Katara with you and find her lost companions."

"Yes chief." Honuk replied. "Katara, come this way." He led her outside and into the shared living quarters.

"Wait, Honuk. What did the chief mean back there? He said he was happy I 'chose' to respect your ways. You told me it was illegal to wear clothes!"

"Mmhm, it's punishable by ostracization. That only applies to tribe members though, outsiders don't have to follow our laws of course, we're a very understanding people." he smiled.

"So you're telling me that I've been wandering around naked for no reason at all?"

"Well, I never told ya to strip down. I'm sure glad you did, you have a great body if you don't mind my boldness."

"Wh- Let's just go already." Katara blushed.
