Chapter 2 by 327BirdsOnTheWall 327BirdsOnTheWall

This is where the fun begins.

A Weird Dream

As I woke up, I thought back on this fantastically weird dream I'd been having. Something about mind worms, and fantastic cosmic power? As I tried to remember what exactly occurred, though, it all slowly drifted away. Drat. It was such a fun dream, too. I couldn't quite remember what exactly happened, but I did remember that it was a good time.

Rolling out of bed, I looked around my dorm room, and then headed over to my closet. It was the first day of October at this point, and I still hadn't been able to make any real friends, much less get any girl to date me. Putting on an outfit that seemed vaguely fashionable, I smiled ruefully. Jeans, t-shirt, and some old sneakers that were starting to fall apart. There was a reason that I was a loner. No one wanted to spend time with me.

Ah, well. Onwards to math class.

As I grabbed my backpack and headed out the door, I paused for a moment, then grabbed a pendulum that was sitting on my desk, and looked at it.

Huh. I don't remember having this. Could be fun for a party trick?

I headed off to class. Calc 115 wasn't exactly would be considered a difficult class, but math wasn't my forte, and it was a required credit, so i had to pay attention to stay on top of it. Dr. Ruprekt was an absolute bombshell of a professor, though, so at least there was always something to look at even if I was spacing out. Today, though, even that wasn't enough to keep me engaged in class.

I'm bored.

I pulled the pendulum out of my pocket and begin swinging it back and forth, back and forth, enjoying the motion. After a moment, I noticed a cute girl in the same row as me looking at the pendulum, and began playing a little mental game. Yes, follow the pendulum. Keep looking. As you watch the pendulum, you will feel bound to my will, and will do as I say. She kept staring at it. I was enjoying the moment, when I heard a loud and pointed cough from the front of the room. As I looked forward again, Dr. Ruprekt was glaring at me, and a significant portion of the class was also looking at me with varying degrees of interest, ranging from mild amusement to a girl behind me quietly winding up to sock me with her textbook. I hurriedly stashed the pendulum and ducked my head.

"Sorry"

She put the textbook down. "Just don't do it again, okay? Some of us are trying to learn here."

_Ass, _I thought to myself as I turned back towards the front of the class. That girl that I was pretending to hypnotize kept on giving me looks as throughout the rest of class, though. I guess she at least liked the performance. Shame no one else did. Once class ended, she walked over, and waited while I packed up my things. I looked up at her. She was absolutely gorgeous. Short hair dyed a light blue in a pair of pigtails, a small leather choker around her neck, a cute blue skirt, and... the flattest chest I'd ever see on a girl in a tank top. What was her name? Jenny? Joanna? Jamie! That was it. I couldn't quite remember her last name, but her first name was Jamie.

"Um, hi Jamie. What can I do for you?"

She shuffled uncomfortably. "I... I think you did something to me there in class. Hypnosis, right?"

I blushed. "Um, yeah. Sorry about that. I was just kinda bored. I won't do it again."

She jumped at that. "No! That's not at all what I was saying. I just... I wanted to tell you that I liked it and I was wondering if you could do that again sometime? Maybe somewhere a little more private?"

I barely kept my mouth from hanging open. This girl was asking to spend time with me? Willingly? I must be getting punked or something. I looked around the room, but there didn't seem to be anyone else nearby, or any cameras. "Yeah, I can do that. Want to come by my dorm room tonight?"

She frowned, "I have a lot of homework I need to get done tonight. Would tomorrow night work? I can slack off a bit then since it's a Friday."

I gave her a smile. "Sounds wonderful."

She beamed. "Great! See you then!", and practically skipped away, humming to herself.

So, I've got a date. What about the rest of my day?
