"Oh, come on, Mr. Forbes," Carla said to her daughter's principal as she sat on the leather love seat in his office.

She looked smug and assumed Mr. Forbes, who was her age, had a crush on her.

"Mrs. Cooper, once again, McKenzie has been accused of bullying."

"And let me guess, there's no proof - only accusations."

"Well, yes, but this is happening...."

"Are you going to suspend her based on just someone else's word? Need I remind you my husband and I have donated quite a bit to this institution in addition to our daughter's tuition."

"Yes, and Swardmouth Academy appreciates all of that."

"And my brother-in-law is a lawyer."

"Yes, you have made that very clear."

"So, why am I here? My daughter just turned 18 and has been accepted to a prestigious east coast liberal arts college, and she would not risk anything to blow that."

"Yes, I'm aware."

"Well, then. Is there anything more to say?"

"I guess not."

"Thank you." Carla got up and left. Her daughter was waiting in the office. School was over, and they walked to McKenzie's convertible sports car. "So what happened?" asked Carla.

"Oh, one of those scholarhip punks had the nerve to accuse me of cheating by stealing her idea for a project in AP Gov."

"Did you?"

"Of course, but I had to...let's say...remind her...you don't fuck with McKenzie Cooper."

"Language young lady. What did you do?"

"Dropped her lunch in a toilet. Nothing serious. Probably baloney and cheese on white bread with a bag of chips."

"McKenzie, I've covered for you too many times. You only have a month left. Please."

"Fine, whatever." McKenzie got in her car and sped off.

Carla sighed. She turned and saw one of McKenzie's classmates and an older woman.

"Mrs. Cooper?"

"Yes, what?"

"I'm Lydia's grandmother, Yve Delcroix. I beleive your daughter is bullying my baby."

"I just met with the principal. He said it was just accusations, so as far as I know, your 'baby' is lying."

"Lydia does not lie," said Yve. The woman, a small, think Creole woman stepped up and pulled a loose hair from Carla's dress.

"Please don't touch me," said Carla. "You don't want to be arrested." She looked down at the woman, put her large designer sunglasses on, turned on her heel and left.

Yve carefully put the strand of hair in a small envelope then into her purse.
