Chapter 2 by VictoriaCummings VictoriaCummings

Who will be the first client in the series?

A Typical Sunday

It’s 8:30 A.M, Jade wakes up in her bed after being put there by one of Nikita’s men assigned to watch over her after a soak in the rejuvenation tank. She finds her allowance, a percent of her earnings for the week, a rather small pittance for what she endures on a daily basis, in an envelope on her night stand. The allowance is small and pitiful because, in an effort to keep Jane enslaved to her, on top of the initial debt, Nikita charges Jade room and board to keep occurring debt to her and keep her enslaved until age of 50.

She gets out of bed, wanders into her bathroom and scrubs the grime and filth of the last 24 hours or so away. Taking a hot unrushed shower is a luxury she get to experience on Sundays due to Nikita keeping her on a vigorous schedule of clients the rest of week that Jade rarely has time for herself. After her shower, she dresses herself in black t-shirt, black skirt, purple and black stockings along with black boots. She grabs her coat and stuffs the envelope into her purse and exits her room and heads down the hall to the lobby of the hotel with no one acknowledging her at all.

Outside the hotel Jade takes a cigarette out of her jacket pocket and lights it up, taking a long drag of it, just dealing with the stress of the week. She then takes a flask from the interior pocket of jacket and takes a huge swig of vodka, before putting it back into her coat.

Now what keeps Jade from just booking it to the airport and getting on a plane out of Moscow? For one thing, she has a chip planted in the back of her neck which acts as a gps and bio-monitoring app that Nikita and the two men assigned to watch over her. Speaking of the two men they are Borris and Alexander, they tail her far enough so she doesn’t feel smothered by their presence but close enough to intervene if any trouble does arise so Nikita’s investment isn’t harmed outside of her hotel.

Jade finishes her cigarette and boards the downtown bus. She gets off at the heart of downtown and walks into an American fast food restaurant, one that has been in the city since the late 20th century. She always comes here as a reminder of home. As she sits down, a blond tail slender man, in a suit and wearing wireframe glasses sits across from her, his name is Dimitri Volo.

Dimitri is a council member in the Russian government who helped spearhead the laxation of the slavery laws passed by the Neo Soviet majority years ago. He is one who makes sure Jane gets a full 24 hours of respite a week and one who will pick up Jane and take her to monthly health screenings to make sure she is ok and healthy. He cannot do more for Jade as Nikita still has a lot of pull behind the scenes in the Russian government. They sit and have a chat with Dimitri asking Jade questions on how she is feeling both physically and mentally; being about her only civil conversation she has during the week. After 30 minutes of chatting, Dimitri gets up and excuses himself to allow Jade to go about her day.

After Jade finishes her burger and fries, she exits the place and walks into a cheap grocery store for low income families. She goes down the aisles and cannot get over the fact that she swears that everyone is staring right at her. She knows that Alexander and Borris are just always a block away, but sometimes when she is out, it feels like everyone’s eyes are on her. She shakes off the paranoia enough to pick up what she needs before stepping back outside into the chilly air of the city once more. Once outside she lights up once again as she waits for the city bus to head back to Golden Moscow Inn.

Once back at the Inn, again no one acknowledges her at all as she makes a beeline to her room. She turns on the tv as she puts away food for the week. As that is finished she collects all items of clothing that has been strung about from various activities that happened to her. She examines each piece seeing which items are in good condition or at least salvageable, and which ones are beyond tattered rags. From each week she tries to save some money for wardrobe if needed. She takes all clothes not reduced to rags into her bathroom where the washer and dryer are located and starts her laundry for the week. She then tries watching something tv but ends up passing out on the couch once more just due to exhaustion both physical and mental stress of the week.

What Should Happen Next?
