A Suspension, and a Demand of the GM

The next week on NXT, one of the things that had the most intrigue was how Toni’s controversial actions would be handled. Because, while she had gotten some more eyes than normal on the brand, she had gotten a lot of negative press for taking things to far and not being able to handle her loss. However, around the middle of the show, Io was shown backstage, barging into William Regal’s office.

“WHERE IS SHE?!” Io screams, having spent the whole show searching for Toni backstage, only to be unable to find her. It was clear that, despite winning the match, she still wanted vengeance on her for being stripped.

“I’m afraid you’ll have to be more specific,” Regal says dryly, he knew exactly who Io was referring to, but he had to appear impartial and inquisitive, even if he would personally love to push Io in the direction of the increasingly smug Storm.

“Toni. Storm.” Io growls, saying her name like a curse. She had thought mockery about being unable to beat her had been bad enough, but after being completely embarrassed by the Kiwi, she was out for blood.

“In regards to Miss Storm, her actions following your title match last week were completely uncalled for, so I have suspended her indefinitely as a punishment,” The GM explains, drawing an even angrier glare from Io Shirai, she didn’t want Toni suspended, she wanted her head!

“Unsuspend her! I need to beat her!” Io screams, maybe sounding a bit unhinged. But the proud champion had spent a week seeing pictures of her embarrassment shared online, she was crazy and out for blood.

“You beat her last week,” Regal explains, still sounding calm despite the anger practically emanating from Io.

“Not enough. I don’t just need to beat her…I need to end her.” Io hisses, this had gotten even more personal in a hurry for her, and maybe she wasn’t thinking calmly, but she wouldn’t rest until she drove that bitch from her life. “Unsuspend her, and give me one more match: title…versus career. When I beat her, she gets fired from NXT.”

“A novel idea, but you would need her to accept the challenge too.” While he didn’t want to give Toni another title match as a result of her actions, he had to admit the idea had merit. And if Io wanted to defend, who was he to say no? Especially since she was the one who was wronged.

“I’ll give her any match she wants: Just that when I win, she’s done.” Io says, knowing her rival would accept. Toni wanted a title more than anything, and Io knew the prospect of picking whatever stipulation she wanted would be more than enough to entice her into it.

“I will send over the contract,” Regal relents, he had a feeling Io would do anything for this match, and there was no point in denying her it. Besides, it was definitely a marquee matchup, even if Toni’s methods of getting it were shady at the very least. “I will make sure she is here next week to give her answer too. You have my word.”

Io nods and then leaves the office in a huff, she was still in a mood, and only ending Toni Storm’s NXT career and embarrassing her in return would satisfy her need for ****.
