A Surprise at the Window – Nancy and Robin
Mike quickly pulls up his pants and, his face still flushed with embarrassment, hurries toward his house. As he walked down the sidewalk, he remembered with horror that he had forgotten his keys and that the night couldn’t get any worse. However, soft murmurs and laughter coming from inside made him stop. With his heart pounding, he crept to a side window and peeked his head out.
What he saw stunned him: his sister Nancy was in the living room, sitting next to Robin Buckley. Nancy, with her firm demeanor and determined gaze, seemed immersed in a serious conversation, while Robin, with her characteristic casual style and a touch of irony, interspersed comments and laughter. The complicity between the two was perfectly noticeable under the warm light filtering through the window.
Mike watched, his relief at not being alone and his strangeness at witnessing such intimate family complicity. Still blushing from the events before, he wished he could disappear unnoticed, while Nancy and Robin continued talking, oblivious to his presence.
