Chapter 3 by rabbitjack rabbitjack

What do you find?

A Ronin and a Knight!

Sunlight glints off of gleaming metal a couple of hilltops away. As you steadily approach, the chime of swordplay rings over the sound of wind across the grass. Two figures flicker back and forth in a deadly, incredibly graceful dance.

The first is a short figure wearing an over-sized armored dress of silver and blue. Her green eyes are dull and lifeless, and her golden hair is braided and twisted up into a bun. She is wielding... that must be an invisible weapon, from the way she is moving her hands and the way it interacts with the others weapon. Despite her disinterested expression, her skill is undeniable and she demonstrates abnormal strength to go along with her skill.

Facing off against her is a **** woman wielding the broken remains of a two-handed sword. Her naturally white hair is cut short and ragged, and her clothing is a rag-tag collection of mismatched armor and tattered wrappings. Even as you watch, she stomps her foot and a ring of greenish energy radiates from her, flattening the grass and washing over the other figure without a noticeable effect. 'A Ki user' you muse to yourself, 'and not a weak one at that. Though the blue one seems to be too, or else she has some other defense against insubstantial attacks...'

Taking advantage of the ragged woman's surprise that her attack failed, the invisible weapon flickering in and out. Barely able to mount a defense despite the dull, mechanical nature of the blonde's movements, the broken weapon traces wide arcs to ensure that the invisible weapon is knocked aside. Finally, the two weapons lock together and both women take a step back and press in, teeth grit in effort.

You will need strong champions for the struggles to come. Both the Fell and your fellow gods will seek every advantage they can get over you, and you have no intention of doing any less. Besides, either of these women would make for a fine champion if given the chance to flourish. Unfortunately it seems very unlikely that you will be able to convince them to stop fighting long enough to make your pitch. If you're going to make a difference, you won't get a better chance.

Will you help Riven, or Arturia?
