A Robbery

Lauren sank lower into her hot bubble bath, letting out a content sigh as she blissfully fell into a deep sleep.

About three hours later, Lauren jolted awake as she heard the slamming of a car door. Cautiously, the little woman got out of the bathtub before looking out her window. Outside her house, Lauren could see a group of people - three men and three women - jumping into a familiar looking car before speeding off down the street. Lauren then saw a moving truck following said car as fast as it could.

Lauren tilted her head in confusion as she saw the truck leave. Shrugging, Lauren went to reach for a towel...only to realize that she had forgotten to bring one in with her. Oh, well. She still had her robe in her bedroom. Lauren unlocked the bathroom door and stepped into her bedroom...

Only to gasp in abject horror when she saw that everything in her bedroom was now gone! Her bed, her dresser, her vanity, her side table; Everything!

It soon hit Lauren. Those people must have been a group of thieves who broke into her house and stole her belongings while she was in the tub!

Cursing her deep sleeping habits, Lauren angrily marched downstairs to call the police, not even thinking to get dressed. Once she got downstairs, she let out a shriek of terror.

It wasn't just her bedroom that had been ransacked. They had stolen everything in the house! Her furniture, her TV, her computer, her phone, her appliances, her dinnerware, her purse; Everything!

Thinking back to the car the thieves left in, Lauren raced to her garage and nearly fainted. Just as she feared, the thieves had stolen her car too! Along with her washer and dryer!

They had robbed Lauren of all her belongings! She no longer had any furniture, any identification of who she was, and no way to contact help. And even worse, she no longer had any clothes!

Lauren let out a high-pitched whine as she wrapped her arms around herself, shivering as she thought about what to do.
