A Procedural Interruption

Armeccitti approached the two Does, "I need to speak to Daria if you please." She motioned that Lexi should leave.

Lexi let out a huff and moved to stand, but Daria gripped her hand and kept her there.

"It's alright Doctor, I'm happy for her to stay here." Daria spoke up.

"If you are sure." Armeccitti didn't wait for a response before launching into her explanation, "I have here your Certification for Partial Exemption, or CPE," She handed Daria a card, bisected diagonally between silver and red. The front bearing a photograph of her face. "You must at all times have this card on you when on campus. If you lose it, you must head directly to the Administration to replace it. I have already briefed you to the nature of use of the card, but if you require further refreshing, the information is on the backside of the card." Daria peered at the back of the card. Sure enough, in tiny writing, everything Armeccitti had said yesterday. "Upon acceptance of the card you are discharged from the medical wing and are able to return to your classes... Any questions?"

Neither Daria nor Lexi said anything for fear of sparking another inordinately long rant.

"Good. In that event, do have a nice day." Armeccitti swanned away.

Lexi grimaced as she left, but Daria gave her a sharp nudge, "Don't be mean to her, she's nice."

Lexi rolled her eyes, "That's a great reason sis, why did I never think of that?" She was being sarcastic.

Daria raised an eyebrow, "All I'm saying is, maybe if you had a more positive attitude towards her, you might like her more." She could tell from Lexi's face this was a losing battle. She sighed and clambered up from the bed, "Let's just go and find Blake..."
