Chapter 6 by BlindSeer BlindSeer

“…I have an appointment at the candy kingdom”

A Portal Opens

Princess Bubblegum stands in her lab, carefully measuring chemicals before adding them to the central mixing chamber.

This has been a long time coming, the frauds at wizard city had long been a thorn in her side and now they had the gall to try to manipulate the council of princesses to their own ends.

She was going to definitively prove that science can match or even outmatch any magic the “Wizard Princess” can make up.

All she had to do was wait, she calculated the amount of time it would take for the wizard princess to respond to her official call out, about 2 days if she took the fastest available transport, that portal nonsense would be irrelevant.

She had been scouting wizard city ever sense they opened their borders, theirs no shot that they have technology capable of facilitating a spacial rift.

She had plenty of time to prepare, several failsafes already prepared and in place, she’s guaranteed victory over the “wizard”

Suddenly the air smells of ozone, and time stands still for only a moment before a negative space opens within the lab.

The doorway fluctuates before stabilizing enough to see the other side like through a window, and from the doorway comes her.

“Wizard Princess…. Your early…” PB mutters more so to herself then her opponent.

You wear a much different outfit this time around, in preparation for this moment.

A cloak with moving runes that passively ward off hazardous magic.

A belt that is more lively then it appears.

Boots that are supes stylish.

And gauntlets that are able to absorb and then project mondo amounts of that good stuff.

“Or I’m right on time, hard to say really, time IS relative after all” You say.

“Soooooo, we gonna do this or what…?”

Your here too soon, it’s time for the first of the failsafes, layer one.

“Oh what you got some rubes to scam?”

“Snake oil to sell to children?”

“You got a con artist workshop you gotta teach?”

She takes small steps as she says this, slowly making her way to fail safe number one, stowed away under a work table.

“Are you really that petty? You call me out here, pull me away from my studies, for what to belittle my way of life?”

“Nah man, talk is cheap, maaaaaaad cheap, I needed to PROVE IT!” Suddenly PB dives for a nearby counter pulling out a weapon from a concealed hiding place.

It’s like a wand with a gun handle and the tip ends in a small lightning filled ball, she pulls the trigger and you can see energy be sucked in through the back of the device and the tip start to swirl with power.

You dive behind a large container filled with candy people bits as the bolt hits the wall leaving a black scorch mark.

“Alright, yeah, Ok… a spell for every occasion….” You unstrap your grimoire, and hurriedly flip through the pages.

A few spells catch your eye, all of them perfect in their own way and each of them having robbed countless nights rest in the process of mastering them.

Spectral Butterflies: A beginner spell that summons a swarm of ghostly butterflies, it’s said that the spell ghostifies a bunch of butterflies and their unfinished biz is to annoy your enemy.

Blade Ward: Use raw magic to make wicked sweet floating swords that work to block incoming strikes, it’s about as basic as a shield spell gets but it’s pretty sick to see in use during tourney season.

Gross Laughter: It’s a spell that make people laugh, really really REALLY hard and honestly it’s kinda hard to watch, all those tears and flinching but their still laughing……. Always laughing.

Soul Touch: A spell that plucks a soul from the ether at random and puts it into whatever your touching, it could be used on all the bits of candy people your hiding behind.

Spook Walk: A spell that let’s you go invisible as long as nobody is looking at you when you cast it.
