Who Experiences This Abstraction?

A Police Officer

Chapter 5 by AnEmbarrassedCreation18 AnEmbarrassedCreation18

Officer Jenny bolted through the doors, her partner not far behind. The AA Dark were a dangerous organization. Abstractions were things that people both feared and sought after. Those who looked for them, could only engage with the abstractions for a few days at most if they were lucky.

Once an Abstraction is known by a lot of people, it disappears from existence. At least, that's the most popular therapy. Some say it transforms, others that it teleports elsewhere.

The AA Dark finds abstractions. They keep it hidden from all others so it doesn't disappear and then sell it to a customer whose looking for an abstraction. The customer doesn't know what they'll get until it's delivered to them. Selling abstractions goes against the law. Though a few abstractions can be kept secret as long as it doesn't hurt anyone. Most are supposed to be reported to the Abstraction Finder. A government program that researches the abstractions before it gets too popular and disappears.

According to research, the AA Dark has some kind of abstraction that's letting them create fictional items. A few people were found with fictional items around the city and after some extensive questioning, they gave up the base.

Jenny dodged a fireball from a Charizard and kept running. She had one of Captain America's shield that she took from one of the organizations customers in custody. She tossed it towards a few of the AA Dark members, knocking them down before continuing up the stairs.

It was dangerous to split up, but her and her partner agreed to do so beforehand. He headed down the stairs into the basement while she headed up. The abstraction would be at the lowest or highest points. Highest point if they wanted an quick escape outside. Lowest point if they wanted it to be tough to reach.

She burst through the door into the top floor as she held the shield up, blocking gun fire as she ran. As soon as she stopped, she threw the shield at the organization's members, watching as the shield moved automatically through the air, hitting each of them perfectly.

On top of a desk was an book. It looked as if it was glitching with various smoky colors coming out of it. Before the person behind it could grab it, she shot him with a tranquillizer. He needed to answer a lot of questions within the next few weeks.

For now though, Jessie grabbed the book and took a photo submitting it to the usual app. A few seconds later, a million of people all over the world saw the photo of the abstraction along with a description of it. The book then disappeared and Jessie felt her head start to ache. As if her brain was trying to force it's way out of her skull.

The voice rang throughout her head. It felt ten times worse than being in the front seats at a concert. A second later, the world went dark.
