What's waiting for you at home?
A Panicked Olivia
Your car screeches to a stop in your driveway. Excitement rushes through you as you get out and bolt towards the front door. You have no idea what Olivia could have planned but you’re more than ready to find out.
You excitedly open the door and enter the front room. Before you can take in anything, you have to quickly duck out of the way as what looks like a pair of shorts flys across the room towards your head.
“Wo!” You shout as they hit the wall, just missing you.
From the other side of the room, you see Olivia. She’s frantically sorting through piles her clothes, carelessly tossing different items in every which direction.
“Um… Olivia?” You say as you slowly approach her.
She suddenly jumps, turning towards you. You’re almost surprised she didn’t let out a scream, as her face in consumed by a look of pure panic.
“I’m… I’m sorry.” You apologize, concerned that you’ve scared her.
“Oh! Thank god you’re home!” She says, a relieved grin spreading across her face.
She embraces you in a hug, before giving you a quick kiss on the lips.
“I knew that text would get you here quickly.” She says before going back to the pile of clothes beside her.
You glance around at the scene, it looks as if the entire contents of Olivia’s closet are now spread across your entire house, along with all of her makeup and accessories.
“What’s going on?” You finally focus enough to ask.
Olivia gives you a confused look at first, before shaking her head.
“Right! Sorry, I’m just all over the place right now, getting everything ready.” She says, flinging one of her bras towards the other side of the couch. “My dad’s coming to stay with us for a few days.”
To say you’re surprised would be an understatement. You had never me Olivia’s father, nor do you know anything about him, since Olivia rarely ever mentions him. The jump to him staying with you is definitely a big one.
“Oh, okay.” You attempt to hide your concern. “When is he coming?”
“Tonight!” Olivia says, no longer looking at you, but instead she’s sorting through a pile of underwear.
Again, you attempt to remain calm.
“Cool… Can’t wait to meet him!” You force a smile that Olivia doesn’t even look at.
There’s a moment of silence as you continue to watch your girlfriend continue to spread her clothing, seemingly carelessly about the room.
“So ugh… what’s all this for?” You finally ask.
“My dad doesn’t know we live together.” Olivia says, still consumed by her task.
“Oh?” Is all you can think to say as it doesn’t seem to come close to answering your question.
“There’s no way he’s going to be okay with it.” Olivia says, again panic filling her voice. “He’ll probably cut me off if he finds out.”
Nothing she’s saying or doing is connecting together in your head, simply adding to your confusion.
“What do you mean he’ll cut you off?” You ask, finally finding something to latch on to.
Olivia finally stops and turns to you. Her eyes widen as she lightly bites her bottom lip.
“I haven’t been completely honest with you.” She says. “My job, doesn’t really pay all that much, so my dad has been helping pay for allot of things.
“Like what?” You ask, a little thrown off by this reveal.
“Just like food, utilities, this house.” She says gritting her teeth. “He’s alway been okay with supporting me because I’m a single woman, if he knew I was living with my boyfriend, all this would go away.
Though you never checked too deep into your girlfriends finances, you had always assumed she was just doing better than you, in fact one of the many benefits of moving in with her was that you didn’t have to pay rent since “She” had already payed off the house. You have so many questions for her, like why she didn’t tell you, or let you help more with money, but your mind quickly goes to the most current issue.
“You gotta tell me what’s going on with these clothes.” You say.
The look on her face jumps from shame and embarrassment to relief as she gives you a smile.
“It’s all part of my plan on how to get through this.” She says excitedly. “We just have to find something that’ll fit you.”
Her words take a second to hit you, but when they finally do you freeze.
“What do you mean, fit me?” You ask. Even more confused than you were before.
“He won’t care if I’m living with someone who’s not a boy.” She says, her tone very much understating the strangeness of what she’s suggesting.
“Um… you’re joking right?” You ask.
Olivia holds out a pink frilly bra up to your chest.
“It’s the best plan I can think of.” She says. “It’s a win win, my Dad won’t be mad, and you two finally get to meet.”
Your mind begins racing with alternative plans that don’t include you dressing like a woman. Before you can voice any of them, you hear a loud knock on the door.
“Oh shit! He’s here.” Olivia gasps.
She frantically tosses you a stack of clothes.
“Quick! Go to the bathroom. I’ll come in and do your makeup.” She demands.
You stand there, holding a pile of women’s clothing, completely dumbfounded.
“But… I…” you stammer, trying to talk your way out of it.
Another knock sounds.
“You have to go now!” She shouts.
