A More Friendly Witch

The cute blonde lead James away from the main living area where the other witches awaited their wine, she waited until safely out of earshot before speaking.

"So, what's your real name?"

"James"

"Nice to meet you James, I'm Chloe" the witch replied "Don't be offended if I call you Toad in front of the others and act a little mean to keep up appearances. I don't mean it. I'm also going to try and stay sober to keep things from getting out of hand"

"If you don't mind me saying, you don't seem much like the others" James told Chloe candidly.

"Well, I'm a lot younger" the blonde witch admitted "Don't let their appearances fool you, some of them have been around since the non magical were burning people like us at the stake. They've been excluded from society for years and become rather embittered. Personally, when I see a cute naked guy my first thought isn't how can I make him suffer"

"How are they going to make me suffer?" James asked nervously, even though he couldn't help feel a little excited that a hot witch thought he was cute.

"It's hard to say. I wasn't even here the last time someone non magical was foolish enough to enter our place. Not that I am calling you a fool - I doubt you came here of your own volition."

"A witch named Rebecca sent me here"

"Ah, that makes sense" Chloe nodded "She is a promising young sorceress who wants to join our coven. I suppose you were both a gift to earn our favour and a demonstration of her powers."

"Is there any way you can help me leave?" James asked anxiously.

"There may be, but it's difficult" Chloe answered "Give me time to work on it and try not to upset the others in the meantime"

The witch crouched down and opened a large cupboard that was stocked with at least fifty bottles of wine.

"Take a couple of these and I'll take the glasses, we shouldn't hang about down here together any longer. Just relax, I promise I will be looking out for you. Oh, and watch out for Dorothy - if you get on her bad side there won't be anything I can do to help you."
