A Moment's Reprieve

They see a group of various Pokémon lifting away burned and/or destroyed wood, sometimes cutting through them. When they approached, they all had various eyes other than purple, showing that they’re normal. You and the others take a sigh of relief.

“We got more of them here.” one said as they saw the group get to them and checked everyone to see they’re okay. They then gathered the infected Pokémon they beat and either dragged them out of the settlement, or had to eat them themselves.

You and the group left the area as you took the time and looked at Neku. “Hey, where are those who were placed away safe?”

The Zoroark nods as he lead the two young Pokémon towards one of the large stones. They see a group of Pokémon moving it away and seeing an underground passage as various Pokémon walked out, lead by some of the guards.

As you looked through them, you felt an impact at you belly and saw that Kate was hugging you, looking up at you. “I knew you’d be okay.”

“Yeah, glad to see you’re well too.”

“It was so scary. They had us in groups, told us to go down the tunnel and wait for further instructions. They said that there was-”

“Calm yourself Kate, your brother and I are fine.” Rachael said as she helped the Pachirisu adjust her bag and fur.

As she does this, you look away and look downward in concern. ‘How long and how many times do camps like this have to go through situations like this one before this ends?’ you thought to yourself as you look over the area of the camp you were in.

You see that some huts and tents have been damaged, destroyed and/or burned down. Some medical dressed Pokémon are tending to the injured and some are crying because they lost those during the attack You clenched your paws into the fist at the sight of the carnage before you.

‘Being torn away from our homes and families, predators taking advantage of the innocent, forcing others to be suspicious of each other! Something like this isn’t gonna just go away just by waiting. Someone or something caused this pandemic! For what reason I don’t know, but it’s causing suffering from everyone around here. This has to stop.’ You then thought about the Mega-Evolution you have. 'Maybe with this power, I might just have an extra edge on stopping this…’

You then thought of the Serperior Naga and wondered about something. ‘If she had those who set out to find the way to stop this, she may have a lead to something.’ You are about to head to the leader’s tent, but then paused as you look at your sister.

‘But is it right that I put my little sister in unnecessary danger? I mean, what happened to us is wrong, but this will be a perilous journey, and Kate can’t even fight!’ You thought as you looked at your medallion. ‘Plus the battles are going to be tougher. I might even just throw away my life just to try to make a difference. Is it really worth taking this risk…?’

You continued to stare at your father’s medallion as you ponder what to do….
