Refusal of the Call(Alt End?)

As you stare at the medallion, you then thought about your journey from Aurora to the survivor camp and you started to shake a little. 'These infected are tougher and more faster than normal. For Arceus sake, I barely got out of Aurora alive!' you thought, recalling the moment from the infected swampert. 'If it weren't from me, Rachael wouldn't have gotten away. And even then, I barely got out of that mess too!'

You went and sat down on a chest, placing your bag in front of you and continue to think what you've been through, 'We had to sleep on a ground, wake up each other to change watch to ensure we don't get ambushed at night, and there are predators who would devour even non-infected. I'd have to most likely deal with more of them if I leave. As well as the fact that infected can vore you in various ways or **** and infect you as well...'

Your forepaw starts to shake as well as the medallion. 'I unwillingly took a life just because I was trying to protect myself and those with me, would I have to do worse? Would something happen to Kate? To me? I-I don't know if I...'

"Rai!" A female voice spoke out, making you yelp out as you turn to see your sister staring at you with concern.

"K-Kate..." you stuttered, surprised at having heard her voice so abruptly all of the sudden. "A-Are you okay?" you asked her, having calmed down a little.

"Are you? I've noticed you sat down and when I called, you didn't respond..." The Pachirisu spoke, walking towards you, staring up at you with her bright orange eyes.

'I've must've been deep in my thoughts as to not hear her.' you thought to yourself, forcing a small smile. "Yeah, I'm fine. I was just thinking about how intense that horde attacking the camp was." You answered, not wanting her to know what you were really thinking about.

The squirrel went to you and sat on the chest near you. "We're gonna be okay right?" she asked you.

"Yeah, we're gonna be fine. We're safe now. Better than being out there, that's for sure." You said staring at her, but what she asked next hit you in your heart.

"Will mom and dad be okay when this is over?"

That question took the air out of your lungs. "Y-Yeah, of course. Once this mess is over, we'll all go back home and see them again."

Kate went and hugged you on your side, closing her eyes to try and ease herself as you place your paw on her head.

'My parents would want us to stay safe no matter what, plus there must be others who are on this quest as well, and they've gotten further in this than me! ' You thought trying to find reasons to stay. 'They'll find an answer soon enough and stop this!... Everything's... gonna be fine.'

"Come on." Rachael said. seeing the two of you. "We should get some rest after what happened..."

"Right." the two of you got up and started to head to your tent with you following them. You placed your paw near your neck and saw that your medallion your father gave you is gone. You panicked a little, but soon found it was in your bag.

'Oh, I must've dropped it in there without knowing.' you thought reaching for it, but paused as you stared at it for a moment before letting it stay here. 'I'm risking too much if I go on this mission, staying here is the right thing to do... Right?' you thought to yourself, moving to catch up with the others.
