A Lovers' Dance

Time feels odd in these moments, doesn't it?

We both laid in bed, cuddling together with me as the little spoon. Earlier that night we were strangers, and the day before that we were nobodies. It felt different what just happened, unlike when I would fool around where once the euphoria went down I'd probably bolt, here it felt like I never wanted tonight to end. But unfortunately, this is not my room, this is not my party, and ultimately it was not my choice.

"That went well, realllly well. Gunna gimme a hard time tryin' to fuhget this night sweet thin'."

"Ha, you and me both."

"Ye from around here, sugah?"

I broke away from her loving arms and spun around to face her naked form. "Hm?"

"Where ye from?"

"Carson City, I don't know if that's from here or not."

She giggled and touched my forehead. "Uh oh, maybe I ended up fucking ya brains out!"

"Knock it off heh, I wasn't paying attention when Bennet drove me over here."

I noticed her eyebrows rise. "Bennet?"

"Yea, he's an acquantaince, knew him in college, has his unform on from doing service-"

"Broad shoulders and a lot of space between his shoulders?"

"If you're trying to say if he's dumb, then kinda." I chuckled. "Why?"

"No reason. He ain't yer date then?"

"No, I'm currently single."

Suddenly a song began to play, felt really old school in the beat and its lyrics. I liked the singer behind it though, really catchy beat even if it sounds retro. Charlotte spun around giving me a good view of her ass as she dipped around the edge of the bed fishing for something.

And what I saw I liked to see

"Hello? Yea, well duh where else 'm I s'pose to be? Alright... yea, okay. I be there, bai."

She hung up and sat still before blowing a deep sigh.

"Am sorry dahlin, but my daddy be callin' me so I gotta get dressed n' all."

"Your dad's in the party too?"

"Sure hope so, is his house."

I was puzzled before suddenly it hit me like a sack of potatoes. "This is YOUR ball!"

"Bingo, my debutante ball hehe. I was nevah much of a ball kinda girl." She winked before getting up from bed and picking up her torn dress. "Golly, now I can't wear this silly lil thing. Oh wells."

I imagine I was stunned as a plethora of thoughts ran through my head. She looked over as she slid a blouse on and giggled. "Golly, ye lookin' like a deer caught in headlights! I that much of a looker?"

"Yes, but also... I just slept with Bennet's sister."

"Yes sir, in the flesh! He was always more of an airhead if ye ask me. Uptight too. Oh, ye might want to get dressed too before someone comes in an' sees us 'less you gotta reason being naked an' sexy on the party girls bed."

"No, I guess not." I muttered before reaching for my panties.

"Hey, cheer up! We had a good time, right? I made ya pop four times, n' ye went at me like a hungry wolf licking the itty bitty scraps off a dry bone!"

"Yea." I started to smile when she approached me, proceeding to kiss me again.

"I like you Helen, ye got somethin' about ye that just razzles my berries!" She paused. "I-I'd ask ye for a dance outside but-"

"They're probably a bunch of homophobes waiting for their gay-dar to trigger." I answered for her, triggering another cute giggle. "I know, I've sorta been there. Maybe we can have our own private dance? Put that song of yers-yours, I mean, to good use."

"Yers." She chuckled before reaching for her phone. "Ye talk funny when yer horny hehe. Alright why not, but this ain't yer regular class of songs, this 'ere is a classic!"

"Groovy." We sort of enjoyed the silly callback as she fumbled around with her phone before playing that familiar tune. Butterflies bounced around in my tummy as she held my waist.

"Shall we dance?" I nodded, and slowly we began to move into the rhythm.
