What Does He Want With The Councillor???
A Loan, Obviously
Aegon Sat In The King's Chair With Tycho Nestoris, Pouring Them Both A Goblet Of Dornish Red. "I Apologise For Being Unable To Meet With You Earlier, I Had An Important Matter To Deal With That Couldn't Wait, I'd Intended To Meet With You Afterwards, But Then The Fire At The Granaries Had To Be Attended To. I Miss The Days I Was Still Prince, I Could Actually Get Some Sleep." Says Aegon As He Hands The Dornish To Nestoris. "Do Not Worry, I'm Actually Here To Speak With Lord Rhaegar, Is Here Here?" Says Tycho. "You Haven't Heard? My Father Has Been Dead For Over A Year, Whatever He Wanted To Discuss I'm Afraid Only His Spirit and Ghost Could Reveal Now." Says Aegon. "That's Unfortunate, Your Father and The Bank Were In The Process Of Securing A Loan To Bring In More Food For Your Coming Winter, He Had An Important Matter To Attend To In Pentos and The Deal Was To Be Finalised At A Later Date. When We Received No Word, We Grew Concerned and The Bank Sent Me To Determine Whether The Loan Was Still Needed." Explains Nestoris. "I See, Well Considering The Current Mess, I'd Have To Say The Coin We'd Need Is Doubled, Perhaps Even Tripled." Says Aegon.
"That Is Quite The Sum, In Westerosi Currency, The Gold Would Be Nearly Half A Billion Gold Dragons, and The Interest Rates Would Need To Be A Minimum Of Fifteen Percent." Says Nestoris. "The Summer Has Lasted For A Rough Decade, and Winter Is Like To Be Just As If Not Longer Than That. If I Can Promise You A Repayment Of The Detraction, Would You Allow Us To Instead Pay Only Seven Percent Interest For The First Two Years, Would You Allow It?" Asks Aegon. "Seven Percent For The First Two Years? That's A Long Time." Says Nestoris. "I Know, But I'm Already Building Three New Castles Specifically To Hold The Royal Harvest, and Rebuilding A Key Defensive Fortification, and That Takes Time, A Long Time. What I'm Asking Is That In Exchange For A Lower Interest Rate For The First Two Years, I'll Gladly Pay Double What The Original Rate Would've Been Once Winter Is Done, It's Simply Good Business Long-Term." Says Aegon. "Shrewd, But We'll Need A Bit More Than That To Agree." Says Nestoris. "What If I Offer To Pay Double The Interest Rates On The Succeeding Loan We Will Inevitably Take Out?" Asks Aegon. "That's More Acceptable." Says Nestoris. "Then, I Believe We Have Settled That Matter, But There's Another I Need To Bring Up. I Would Like To Hire The Services Of The First Sword Of Braavos, I'm Putting Together An Elite Guard, and I Want Only The Best To Help Train It." Says Aegon. "Syrio Forel Is A Tad Eccentric, But His Services Are Easily Enough Acquired. I"ll Pass It Along." Says Nestoris. "Then I Bid You Farewell My Good Man, Until We Next Meet." Says Aegon As He Departs Himself.
Aegon Left The Small Council Chamber and Found His Way To Lord Tyrion. "I Just Secured A Reasonable Loan From The Iron Bank, For Recouping Our Winter Harvest Losses. I Want Our Banners To Begin Increasing Their Farming Efforts, We'll Need More Food Quickly. I Also Need You To Increase The Quantity Of Our Wine Shipments, The More We Have The More Can Be Drank Or Used Elsewhere." Says Aegon. "I'll See To It Your Grace, Don't Worry." Says Tyrion. "Lord Tyrion, The Castles and Keeps I Asked You To Ensure Be Built, They Must Be Spacious and Defensible. Especially The Final One. The Last One Will Serve As A **** Point In The Roads and Rush." Says Aegon. "So Be It Your Grace." Says Tyrion. "Thank You, Now I Would Leave You." Says Aegon As He Leaves Tyrion's Company.
Varys Asked For Aegon To See Him In The King's Chambers, It Seemed Illyrio Had Made Good On Aegon's Request Regarding Valyrian Weapons and Other Treasures. Aegon Arrived Quickly, and Found A Number Of Chests Present. "Illyrio's Gifts?" Asks Aegon. "Indeed, He Spared No Expense. Countless Scrolls, Tomes, Tapestries, and Other Treasures, Not To Mention A Veritable Mine Of Valyrian Steel Weaponry." Says Varys. "Ask The Citadel To Send Their Very Best To Assist In The Study, Preservation, and Documentation Of This Knowledge. Also Request Seven Archmaesters Come To Kingslanding To Attend To The Tasks Grand Maester Pycelle Is Unable To. For Now, Send For The Royal Family, The Hand, Master Of War, and Royal Consorts From Dorne and The North." Says Aegon. "Right Away Your Grace." Says Varys As He Bows and Departs.
Aegon, Tye and Nym, Ser Jamie and Ser Kevan, Queen Mother Elia and Dowager Queen Lyanna, Prince Oberyn, Alys and Wylla, Myria, Queen's Arianne, Margaery, and Val, and Queen-Consort Visenya All Found Themselves Present In Aegon's Spacious Chambers. "Welcome, We Have Several Treasures Of Old Valyria. But There's Also An Important Matter. Ser Jamie, Please Ride For Casterly Rock, and Take This Sword With You. Tell Your Father, It Is My Gift To House Lannister. Uncle, I Ask You Deliver This In Person To Quentyn, It Is My Gift To House Martell, Margaery, I Ask You Deliver This To Your Brother Willas, My Gift To House Tyrell, and Finally Lord Kevan, I Ask You Deliver This Magnificent Piece Be Delivered To House Baratheon, For Lord Robert." Says Aegon As He Hands Over A Sword, A Spear, Another Sword, and A Warhammer Made From Valyrian Steel To Each Recipient. "Can We Get Some?" Asks Tye, Referring To Her, Nym, and Obara. "Naturally, I've Already Sent The Blueprints To The Cities Very Best Smith, He Has Agreed To Forge A Suitable Number For Each Of You." Says Aegon.
Aegon Chose To Send A Royal Summons To Sansa Stark, Yara Greyjoy, Dany and Rhaenys, and Any Other Maiden Who Attended His Last Ball and Hadn't Became A Recipient Of A Crown. The List Was Pretty Blasted Short, and Aegon Would Pick From Amongst The Prettiest and Most Profitable. But Then Of Course Aegon Had The Matter Of A Master Of Laws, and Three Kingsguard Knight Positions To Fill. He Wanted Sandor Clegane In The Guard, But He Wanted Him As Lord Of House Clegane, A Position Currently Filled By His Monstrous Brother. Aegon Decided To Order Varys To Poison The Mountain With The Most Self-Destructive Poison He Could Get His Hands On, The Strangler. If He Went According To Plan, Aegon Could Make Sandor The Lord Of House Clegane and Put The More Preferable Hound In Power Over His Monstrous Brother.
Aegon, Trusted Sandor Far More Than He Ever Would His Brother, Because At The End Of The Day, Sandor Was Far More Likeable and Trustworthy. Aegon Also Found Himself In Need Of A Squire Or Two, So He Had Lord Tyrion Look For One. Aegon Was Currently Looking At The Setting Sun, and Walked Inside.
