A Little Bit Beastly Post-Apocalyptic World

Planet Woof was undergoing a postapocalyptic population collapse. The animal-eared populations were in peril. They needed saviours!

Instead, they got the 'small' advanced survey vessel, Alexia.

The humans aboard the Alexia decided that they could not wait for reinforcements to reach the system. With the state the planet was in, there soon wouldn’t be enough animal-ears left to exploit.

To save the world, they would simply have to conquer it with only five humans.

All things considered, they could maybe conquer it with one human.

One of them immediately called “dibs” on that, but he was overruled.

So, the survey team immediately had the Alexia begin printing out the machines, to mine the asteroids, to replicate the machines, to build an automated industrial bases, to produce the foods and medicines needed to save the failing populations and to inoculate them with control nanomachines.

Meanwhile the crew of five began abducting population samples to calibrate the medical programs, learn the languages for more ‘diplomatic’ contact, and … to play with.
