A Handsome Man

Josie eyes scanned the nearby people. No one seemed to be paying her any attention. "Whew..." She thought as she took another sip of her smoothie. "Okay... Josie... Josh just calm down." Josie's inner monologue seemed to switch between a male a female voice. "It could have been worse. At least you are healthy... and normal... and... and your life isn't terrible." Josie finally began to feel relaxed.

Taking another sip of her smoothie a man in his late 20s caught her eye. He was the tall, dark, and handsome type. "Huh..." Josie would normally be jealous of a guy like that, but... "No..." Josie felt a small rush of endorphins in her brain. "I can't..." She felt herself begin to blush. "I can't find him attractive..." Josie felt another rush of endorphins. "I mean... he is kind of cute." Josie's female brain and memories were beginning to take control again. "But he would never date a girl like me." Josie's head dipped slightly as she thought about how she had been passed over so many times before by guys like him.

Josie looked up to see the handsome guy walk away into the mall. "What I wouldn't do to get a night with him." She shook her in disappointment. Josie continued to sip away at her smoothie as the reality of her situation began to fully sink in. "I guess I might as well just roll with the punches..." Her straw made a slurping noise as she neared the end of her smoothie, but before she could finish it off another patroon caught her eye.
