After that, things seemed to settle down for Granny Carol. By no means her first choice of titles, that had been what May eventually decided upon here.

"Cookies are ready!" Granny Carol announced, smile proudly on her face. Staring down at the plate of cookies she had just prepared, the grandmother was met with her grandchildren's pretty faces. It was amazing to be part of a large family with so much love to go around here. While others might not agree with that sentiment, it was what worked for the Maples.

"Yay!" they announced, scooping up cookies before the grandmother even had a chance to set them down on the table. Normally something she would prefer they not do, it couldn't be helped.

"How are you holding up, mother?" Caroline inquired and Carol flashed a smile her way. Then it's back to doting on her grandkids. The perfect thing to be doing here, of course.

At one time, she would've balked at ending up in such a role. Now, this was the perfect role for her.
