Chapter 3 by SerynSiralas SerynSiralas

A Fond Farewell

It should, perhaps, have been undignified to be carried on the back of a giant norn, but, as the Crossroads Haven came into view, Cecilia could not find it within herself to be embarrassed. Comfortable and warm, and most importantly, not straining her bruised and well-hammered thighs and butt by walking, she had rather enjoyed the trek from the homestead, after the night and day the blizzard had spent finishing its raging, going the few hours north until the haven.

Both Mette, who apparently had a whole cartful of goods to unload at the little fortified town, and Idun, who insisted on carrying Cecilia on her back, had come along. The frequent, possessive brushes of fingers against Cecilia’s cheek, and flank, and butt, and thigh, and plenty of other places, told her that, as much as the two had given her a mind-blowing memory to warm herself with on future cold nights, she must have given them something not too dissimilar. But, then, being as absurdly blessed as they were, perhaps the opportunities to relieve the pressure were not all that frequent, since, she imagined, even many norn would struggle with just one of the two.

When, perhaps a hundred steps from the open gate of the haven, they both stopped, this seemed all but confirmed.

“Will you be coming back this way?” Idun sounded almost worried, and, though she only nodded along, Mette seemed of a similar mind.

“My patrol route leads me past every two months, or so,” Cecilia said, unable to stop herself from smiling. Grinning, almost. “Thinking of saving a spot by the fire for me?”

“It’s already saved,” Mette said. She shot a glance to Idun, who nodded, and then idly, absentmindedly tugged on her braid.

“You should come with. You might enjoy some time in the haven, with me.”

The two norn nodded, in unison. The last hundred steps to the haven were taken in comfortable silence, at least among the three. Inside the wall, there was some sort of ruckus, which turned out to be Cecilia’s patrol unit, having anxiously waited for her. Waited to go out and look for her, she was informed.

Upon explaining that she had gotten lost in the blizzard, and that Idun and Mette had found and warmed her back up, both of them were handily rewarded. Not just with coin, which Cecilia thought they might not find terribly useful, as independent as they seemed to be, but with a quarter of a dolyak, and a barrel of ale. And a favor owed by the Lionguard. She imagined they might call that in to get her “help” for a longer stay, in future. Hoped they might, at least.

Conscious of everyone’s eyes upon them, they said their farewells, all three. Shamelessly, as she hugged first one, and then the other, shielded by her own body, Cecilia pressed a hand into each norn’s crotch.

“Two months?”

“Already looking forward to it,” Idun said. Mette nodded.
