A Dark and Foggy Night [Halloween 2024]
A/N As the title suggests, this is the Halloween special for 2024. If you're coming into this looking for some kind of deep, complicated story, this probably isn't gonna do it for you. It's just a fun excuse to get the girls of Amethyst Shore in some sexy costumes and have a little bit of Halloween fun. I think this turned out pretty fun, but an exceptionally well-written story it is not, I'm afraid. Regardless, I hope you enjoy the special and enjoy seeing how they celebrate Halloween in Amethyst Shore.
———
“I guess I just don’t get it.” Jace Holland said, crossing his arms.
“What’s not to get?” his big sister Daisy Holland retorted, putting her hands on her hips.
“What makes you the angel?” Jace grinned.
Standing before him was his 20 year old sister dressed in a very slutty angel costume. She had a lacy white corset that showed off some absolutely mouthwatering cleavage, with a bunch of elegant bows down the middle of it. At her hips, the corset flared out into a tiny white gauzy skirt, barely coming down enough to cover all her naughty bits. On her shapely legs she wore thigh high white stockings, and on her feet was a pair of white heels. She also wore a headband with a fluffy white halo above her head, nestled into her blonde hair so that the band of it wasn’t visible unless you were really looking for it.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Daisy retorted.
“I mean, I get it had to be one of you, but you and Ariel are both very anti-angelic.” Jace pointed out.
“I’m angelic!” Daisy exclaimed, and Jace looked pointedly down at her extensive cleavage on display.
“Well, we decided my blonde hair would look better with the white.” Daisy admitted, shrugging with a grin.
“You would have looked good with the red, too, you know.” Danielle Holland said, walking into the living room. “I was the devil my senior year, and Rach was the angel.”
“I think you’d look great in either one.” Jace grinned at his sexy mother.
“Oh, I killed it.” Danielle smirked.
“Where’s your costume, Mom?” Daisy asked, frowning at Danielle wearing a tank top and some dark green booty shorts.
“Oh, I’m not going to the festival tonight. Your father’s in Coral Sands, and I just wanna relax and enjoy my Thursday night.” Danielle shook her head.
“What? Come on, you gotta go.” Jace protested. “Isn’t Aunt Rachel going?”
“I’m not sure if she is or not.” Danielle said. “Besides, I don’t even have a costume.”
“Just put on something sexy and make something up. Sexy teacher would be super easy.” Daisy pointed out.
“Yeah, Daisy wears that costume every day.” Jace pointed out.
“And you love it.” Daisy said smugly. Jace couldn’t help but nod.
“Speaking of costumes, where’s your other half?” Danielle asked, pointing at Jace.
Jace glanced down at himself. He was dressed in a Green Arrow costume, a quiver of arrows strapped to his back, a bow hooked onto it. He had on green gloves, green pants, and the sort of armored looking jacket, with thick padding around the shoulders and buckles going up over his shoulders and onto his back where the quiver was mounted. He had the hood of the jacket flipped back at the moment, and he was fiddling with the eye mask idly as he talked with his mother and sister.
“Izzy’s on her way over.” Jace explained. “Amy’s picking her up.”
“You don’t think it’s weird you’re doing a couples costume with your cousin?” Daisy brought up.
“Nah, it’s Izzy.” Jace said.
“What, you’re couply enough with her already?” Daisy teased.
“I have caught the two of you spooning in your bed several times.” Danielle mentioned with a mischievous grin.
“Mom!” Jace protested.
“Hey, I’m just telling Daisy what I saw!” Danielle laughed.
“Tsk tsk. You’re fucking her, aren’t you?” Daisy smirked.
“No!” Jace exclaimed.
“What was Izzy wearing during these spooning sessions?” Daisy demanded of Danielle.
“Mom, do not-” Jace began.
“Not much.” Danielle smirked in a manner that was almost identical to Daisy’s smirk. “I think once it was just a crop top and panties.”
“You’re totally fucking her.” Daisy said, satisfied.
“I’m not! It’s just hot in my room sometimes.” Jace maintained.
“Oh, the old ‘it’s so hot in here’ excuse, really?” Daisy laughed.
Danielle laughed, shaking her head. “Where’s Dana? Usually she’s right here arguing with you two.”
“She’s over at Brooklyn’s.” Daisy said dismissively.
“Moving on from the topic of Izzy, you definitely need to put on a costume, Mom.” Jace said, and Danielle sighed.
“Alright, I’ll go try and put something together.” Danielle said, and she headed up the stairs.
“Wait, where’s your other half?” Jace asked Daisy after a few minutes. “Is Ariel coming over?”
“No, I’m just meeting her at the festival.” Daisy said. “She’s bringing her sisters over.”
“Can you give me, Izzy, and Amy a ride when you go?” Jace asked hopefully.
“You want me to take you and Izzy on your date? You gotta have a bit more class than that, baby bro.” Daisy shook her head.
“Move on, Daisy!” Jace laughed, and shoved her playfully. “Izzy and I are just cousins.”
“Suuure.” Daisy winked.
“Hey, it’s not my fault all my family members are scorching hot busty blondes.” Jace protested.
“It is if you’re spooning them.” Daisy laughed. Jace grinned.
“It was hot that day.” Jace shrugged.
“Multiple times?” Daisy lifted her eyebrows.
“My room has bad air conditioning?” Jace tried, making Daisy burst out laughing.
“Alright, I’ll stop teasing you, idiot.” she said fondly. “Just don’t forget to use a rubber.”
“Daisy!” Jace exclaimed, making her laugh again. Both the Holland siblings glanced up at the sound of boots on the stairs, and Jace looked on appreciatively as Danielle came down the steps wearing brown cowgirl boots, some daisy dukes, and a red flannel shirt tied up under her breasts, along with a cowgirl hat placed on top of her blonde hair.
“Not bad, Mom.” Daisy wolf-whistled, making Danielle laugh.
“Thanks, hon.” Danielle smirked, and she gave a twirl for her kids, showing off how those denim shorts were clinging to her curvy ass.
“And you said you didn’t have a costume.” Jace accused.
“I had parts of a costume, I guess, and I borrowed a flannel shirt from Daisy.” Danielle nodded.
“I thought I recognized that.” Daisy nodded back. There was a sudden knock on the front door, and Jace went to answer it, revealing two girls standing on his front porch.
“Hey, strangers.” Jace smiled.
“Hey, yourself.” Isabelle Holland smiled at him, and she threw her arms around his neck tightly in a hug, his hand coming up to rest on the small of her back. She stepped past him inside the house quickly, and the other girl threw her arms around him, too.
“Hi, Jace! Nice costume.” Amy Blackson beamed.
“Hey, Ames. You look great, too.” Jace nodded.
Amy was dressed up like Triss Merigold, her bright red hair pulled back into two buns at the back of her head. She wore extremely tight dark brown pants, hugging her soft curves, and on her top half she had on the iconic brown leather vest with the blue and white shoulders, a blue cord around her waist with a cosmetic pouch on it. She wore red fingerless gloves going up to her elbows, and Jace couldn’t help but drink the huge pale cleavage that that vest Amy had on was creating.
“Thanks!” Amy smiled, and she kissed Jace’s cheek before stepping past him into the house. Jace closed the door behind him, and walked into the living room, trying not to be overly obvious about how he checked out Isabelle.
His cousin and the other half of his couples’ costume tonight was dressed like the Black Canary, with the iconic fishnets looking incredible as they covered her ass and legs. Most of her outfit was a black leotard that showed off her ample bottom and was also rather low cut, revealing plenty of Izzy’s big tanned, uh, canaries. Over the leotard she had on a cropped black leather vest, along with the black choker around her neck. The last part of her costume was black leather fingerless gloves that ended at her wrists unlike Amy’s longer red ones.
Jace glanced up from Izzy’s body and his eyes met a knowing pair of teal ones belonging to a certain sister of his. He was never convincing Daisy that he and Izzy weren’t fucking. It just wasn’t happening.
“Alright, all of you. Everybody get in the car, I’ll drive us all over to the festival.” Danielle told the group, clapping her hands together. Jace put on the eye mask of his costume, but left the hood flipped back for now as he and the group walked outside, into the October night. It wasn’t too cold, thankfully, as a warmish Halloween meant that girls were a lot more willing to dress skimpy, something that was always a good thing in Amethyst Shore. Even on colder Halloweens, the girls of this town liked to go wild with their costumes, and the warm ones were even better.
Danielle and Daisy claimed the front two seats, and Jace found himself squeezed between his curvy best friend and cousin. Izzy’s thigh was pressing against him, bare except for the black fishnet. Jace pressed his thigh back against her, and he saw her lips curve upwards just slightly.
“Dana’s got a ride, right?” Danielle checked.
“Yeah, I’m sure Mrs. Robinson can drive her if push comes to shove.” Daisy shrugged. Danielle nodded, and she pulled the car out of the driveway.
———
Halloween in Amethyst Shore was always a huge affair, due mainly to the fact that in the year 1869, the town of Amethyst Shore was founded on October 31st, unintentionally making Halloween an enormous holiday for years to come.
On the southern side of town, in the expansive Founders’ Park was the Halloween Festival, with big banners up denoting this as the 155th anniversary of the town’s founding. It was very dark in Founders’ Park, the only lights set up were plenty of ambient lighting that lent itself more to a spooky atmosphere than they did to useful illumination, casting long gnarled shadows throughout the park.
Crowds of the town’s residents milled about, almost every single one sporting a costume, and many of them with elaborate face paint that was probably done in one of the booths set up near the park’s entrance. The area around the entrance of the park was the most populated, but the entire park was hosting the festival, with various activities set up.
As Jace and his group walked into the festival, they saw events like bobbing for apples, some classic carnival games like ring toss, shooting galleries, along with plenty of food stands selling Halloween treats.
There were also signs advocating the famous Founders’ Manor Haunted House. Founders’ Manor was a big three story home set on the edge of the big pond, and every year it got done up into a pretty awesome haunted house. The walking paths all throughout the park were also decorated for Halloween, and a couple of fog machines had been set up around the park to put a kind of eerie atmosphere around the most populated areas of the festival.
“I always love this festival.” Isabelle murmured, and Jace nodded in agreement.
“Oh, look, they have the cemetery open this year.” Amy pointed out at a sign. The old cemetery was right next to Founders’ Park, and typically got drawn in as part of the festival, though last year it hadn’t been open.
“Raar!” a voice roared, and someone grabbed Amy from behind, making her yelp and spin around in shock.
“Matthew Chester!” Amy exclaimed, whacking him across the chest, making Jace laugh.
“You guys have fun, I’m going to head over with Mom to find the Barnes family.” Daisy laughed, snorting at Matt’s costume before she walked off with Danielle. Jace noticed his two family members getting lots of appreciative looks as they walked through the festival. Jace could hardly blame them, Daisy and Danielle looked insanely sexy in their costumes.
He looked back at Matt to find Amy had stopped hitting him, which was good.
“Dude, what are you wearing?” Jace laughed, as Isabelle leaned in against his side almost sub-consciously.
“Well, I didn’t exactly remember to buy a costume, and the stores were all out, so I scrounged up some clothes, and Maple did my face paint, and, uh yeah. I’m a zombie businessman.” Matthew shrugged. He was wearing a rumpled suit, the tie loose around his neck, collar half up, half down, his shirt untucked and missing a few buttons, and best of all, he had green face paint all over his face with some red smeared around his mouth.
“Wow, Maple did good. Is she here tonight?” Jace asked interestedly.
“Yeah, she is, but keep your paws off my sister, man.” Matthew joked.
“Like you kept your eyes off Daisy?” Jace shot back.
“Come on, that’s totally unfair! Have you seen Daisy?” Matthew complained.
“Yeah, I have.” Jace admitted, chuckling.
“Exactly.” Matt smirked, thumping Jace in the shoulder. “Now, you guys wanna go straight to the manor? Or work our way through and do that later?”
“Oh, let’s do that later.” Amy said quickly.
“That’s right, you hate horror.” Matt recalled. “Sorry for scaring you, in that case.”
“I don’t hate horror.” Amy protested. “I just, um, prefer other genres.”
“Like fantasy.” Jace said, gesturing at her Triss outfit.
“Exactly!” Amy nodded.
“Should we wait for Dana?” Isabelle brought up, as Matt tried to start the group on their way towards the fog-covered walking paths.
“Uh… let me text her.” Jace said, and fished his phone out of his costume’s pocket.
‘You almost here?’ Jace texted Dana. Her response came in nearly immediately, and he chuckled.
‘Ugh no! We’re having fashion emergencies. Be like 30 mins probably.’ Dana texted back.
“Nah, we’re not waiting.” Jace shook his head after shooting off an ‘Ok’. “They’re still getting ready.”
“Always taking forever.” Matthew joked.
“Hey! It takes effort to look this good.” Isabelle said, slipping an arm around Amy’s waist and gesturing to herself and Amy with her other hand.
“Oh, I’m sure it does. You two do look great tonight, by the way. You did good with your costumes.” Matt nodded.
“That’s what happens when you get your costume sometime before October 31st.” Jace pointed out.
“Jace and I have had these for like a month now, right?” Isabelle asked, hooking her arm through Jace’s as the quartet walked through the dark, foggy park. Other festival goers milled about around them, some walking the same way as them, some walking the other way, but everybody was in costume, mainly sticking to their own little groups.
“Yeah, something like that.” Jace nodded.
“I can’t believe you were that punctual.” Matt shook his head in amazement. Jace looked pointedly at Isabelle, who grinned.
“It’s possible that I may have showed up at his door and demanded he sit down with me and pick out some costumes.” Isabelle admitted.
“She knows you too well.” Amy clicked her tongue, laughing.
“She sure does.” Jace chuckled, his teal eyes meeting Izzy’s blue. Izzy smiled, and she leaned her head against Jace’s shoulder as they walked. Jace figured that to everybody passing around them, he and Izzy must look like a proper couple. Dressed up as Green Arrow and Black Canary, with said Black Canary cuddled up against Green Arrow as they walked.
“You guys wanna check out the cemetery? I heard it’s really awesome this year.” Matt said, jerking his thumb to the walking path off to the right.
“Yeah, let’s do it.” Jace nodded, and the four of them carried on down that path, heading towards the old cemetery. This one was no longer in use, hadn’t been since the early to mid 1900s, which was why the festival got to set up there so often. They were serious about not fucking up the headstones, and had had a couple people ejected in past years for causing too much mess, which was probably why it had closed last year, but the cemetery was just such a fun part of the festivities.
A man in a werewolf mask made a fake lunge at Amy and Matt as they walked, and Amy recoiled right into Jace, making him almost trip. The werewolf laughed and kept on walking.
“Prick.” Izzy muttered as he walked away, which made Jace laugh as he helped Amy get her footing.
“You good?” he asked her, brushing a loose strand of red hair from her face. She gave him a slightly uncertain smile, but it became a bit more solid when he cupped her cheek.
“Yeah, I’m good.” Amy nodded, and the quartet set off again.
It wasn’t long before they left the wooded area behind and walked out into a gated cemetery, with old, cracked headstones in neatish rows. Plenty of people in costumes were already here, and Jace was amused to see ghost decorations set up all over the heavily fog-shrouded cemetery. There were a few eerie lanterns set up around the place, but for the most part, it was dark in the cemetery.
“This place is even better than usual.” Matt enthused, observing a couple kids trick or treating from a man dressed like some kind of undead gardener. Jace presumed the ghosts had gotten to him, and he enjoyed the creativity there.
“Yeah, it’s not bad.” Izzy agreed.
Jace squinted at the headstones as they walked, seeing if he could see a last name he recognized. A lot of his friends, and himself included actually, had old family names, dating back to the founding of the town. He knew Sadie Holland, the infamous cowgirl outlaw, was in the cemetery somewhere, as was Amy’s ancestor Terrence Blackson, who had been a total asshole in all the stories Jace had read. Sadie had led a group of all-female outlaws who called themselves the Amazons, and while they’d definitely broken some laws, they were a lot more morally upright than Terrence Blackson and his gang of criminals.
As the four friends walked through the cemetery, Jace felt a strange sensation brushing across the back of his neck, sort of like a soft hand rubbing him. It made goosebumps prickle along his skin, and he shuddered, cold at first, then surprised when a warmth started spreading through him. He felt a bit feverish, but then the heat started building somewhere unexpected, and Jace was surprised to realize that the pants of his costume felt surprisingly tight all of a sudden as something heavy and hard began to strain against the fabric. Jace could have sworn he heard a woman's soft laugh in his ear, and then the sensation on his neck dissipated, along with the strange heat. He was left still hard, but he no longer felt the same burning arousal, and the heat ebbed away until he was left feeling normal back in the cool October night.
Jace glanced sideways at his three companions, but none of them seemed to have felt anything.
Weird.
———
Dana Holland tugged at the skirt of her costume, feeling a little exposed in the outfit, because, well, she was. Dana was dressed up like a fairy, as was her best friend Brooklyn. Technically they were just average fairies, but due to her blonde hair, Dana's costume was a touch inspired by Tinker Bell. She wore a sparkly green dress that clung to her petite slim curves, going down to just a bit past her hips, leaving most of her legs fully exposed. The fairy dress had a low sweetheart neckline, baring off some of Dana's perky large breasts. Her blonde hair was pulled up into a braided bun look, something Brooklyn had done for her which Dana loved. In her hand was a slim silver wand with a star at the end of it, very stereotypical Fairy Godmother, in Dana's opinion.
"We should have worn outfits with pants." Brooklyn Robinson mumbled, and Dana laughed, looking over at Brooklyn.
"It's not even cold out, Brook!" Dana said amusedly. Brooklyn was dressed very similarly to Dana, except she had on a pink version of Dana's outfit, and it was also a good bit bigger than Dana's, not just because of the difference in the girls' stature, but because Brooklyn had way more of an insane body than Dana had. Brooklyn had these thick juicy hips and big bouncy ass that all the boys drooled over. Brooklyn had a lot more going on in her lower half than Dana could ever dream of, and Brooklyn's boobs were a lot bigger than Dana's too. If Dana had a bosom like her older sister or her mother had, she'd be right on par with Brooklyn, but unfortunately, Dana hadn't inherited the physical blessings from Danielle like Daisy had. Brooklyn's brown hair was in two thick braids, hanging over her shoulders, which Dana had done. The only other difference was that Brooklyn's wand was gold not silver like Dana's.
"I'm not cold." Brooklyn corrected. "These fairy costumes just feel very small."
"Oh, that. Yeah, we did end up buying some very skimpy costumes." Dana agreed, and she turned around to the backseat to grab the two pairs of wings sitting in the back of Jace's car. Dana had 'borrowed' her brother's car once she found out that he'd gone to the festival in Danielle's car. Brooklyn made a noise of agreement, and accepted the wings Dana handed her.
The girls climbed out of the car, shrugging on their wings, and Dana let out a sound of excitement seeing the Halloween festival in all its' spectacular, spooky glory. Dana had always liked Halloween, and the dark park at night with the thick fog blowing around the festival grounds was an incredible atmosphere for the night. A much less enthusiastic Brooklyn tugged the hem of her pink dress, though it did nothing to stop the appreciative looks from many of the men who passed her and Dana as she followed her bubbly blonde best friend into the foggy night.
"Where's Jace?" Brooklyn asked, glancing around, squinting in the dark to try and spot a green archer.
"No clue. He's not answering his phone." Dana huffed.
"Dana! Brooklyn!" a voice exclaimed cheerfully, and Dana and Brooklyn turned to see a queen walking towards them, a black dragon perched upon her shoulder. Skylar Wayne wore a cream colored dress baring an incredible amount of her bosom, and the slit up her leg didn't hurt her sex appeal either. Her hair, which was already a rather pale blonde, seemed a little lighter tonight, and from the plastic black dragon mounted to her shoulder, Dana knew exactly who she was meant to be. She'd seen Jace and Amy watching plenty of the show, and Dana had to admit, Skylar pulled off a really good Daenerys Targaryen.
"You watch that show, too?" Dana smiled. "Jace and Amy love it."
"I actually haven't seen the show." Skylar admitted. "Amy got me hooked on the books, something that has eaten up far too much of my time. I am dressed in a costume off the TV show though."
"Maybe you shouldn't spend so much time with Jace and Amy." Brooklyn joked, but Skylar's calculating eyes could see the genuine strain in the curvaceous brunette. Skylar, unlike Jace, wasn't blind, she could tell when a girl was carrying a torch, and Brooklyn had a whole bonfire.
"You know where Jace is?" Dana asked quickly, and Skylar guessed that the petite blonde could see the truth, too.
"Yeah, he's over at the old cemetery. He's with Amy, Matt, and Izzy." Skylar said. "I've just arrived, and Sam's already run off. Jesus, couldn't he stick around?"
"Where else would I go?" a voice said, and Dana and Brooklyn turned to see Sam walking up wearing a red and blue suit, his blonde hair combed back in a quiff, not quite as long as the actual character's, but he'd done his best. A red and white striped cape flowed out behind him, and on his shoulders were pauldrons resembling eagles.
"I figured you'd be Viserys." Brooklyn blurted, making Sam scoff.
"What, that nerd stuff? Hell, no. Sky can keep her fantasy books." Sam shook his head. "I'm Homelander!"
Glancing between the Wayne twins and their very different costumes, Brooklyn was struck by the quality of both costumes. She felt like her and Dana were in cheap shitty homemade costumes compared to Skylar's elegant gown and Sam's Homelander suit that may as well be the actual thing for how accurate it looked. Hell, he was rich enough that he very well could have acquired the actual thing.
"Whoever you are, are you coming to the cemetery?" Skylar asked.
"For sure. That's always the best part of the festival. Beats wandering around the grass." Sam shrugged.
"The old cemetery is the best part?" Brooklyn wrinkled her nose, but Dana was nodding.
"Yup! I was devastated when it was closed last year." Dana said firmly.
"Same!" Sam exclaimed, grinning.
The second quartet of teens made their way towards the cemetery, unaware of what swirled unseen in the darkness all around them. Lightning flickered in the skies as dusky ashen spirits began to drift through the clouds. Unbeknownst to the festival goers, there's a reason the cemetery was closed last year. After 150 odd years, the spirits were getting restless, and here on this night, 155 years since the formation of the town, the ghosts of the original citizens of Amethyst Shore were coming out to play.
