A Conversation

The next day at Breakfast :

I informed my husband about Raghav Ji's request. I also told him that I was thinking of refusing. But instead of agreeing he told me to accept his request, to help him in choosing a dress for his wife's birthday.

I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. Choosing a dress for his wife felt like stepping into a territory too personal, too intimate for a professional relationship.

I expressed my **** to my husband, but he was persistent, citing Raghav's kindness and how much it would mean to him. Despite my reservations, I eventually relented, swayed by his assurance that it was just helping a friend and my supposed knack for fashion. With a sigh, I agreed, not wanting to disappoint my husband, knowing how much he valued this gesture of support for his boss.

I called Raghav Ji to inform him of my decision. I could hear the excitement in his voice. He told me that he would pick me up in the afternoon.

After finishing all my tasks, I hurriedly got ready. I initially decided to chose a simple yet elegant outfit but then I remembered how Raghav Ji had complemented my fashion sense. I decided to wear my favorite white Kurti. I also did my hair and makeup with care. As I glanced at myself in the mirror, I knew that today Raghav ji would not be able to look away from me. Thinking about it I blushed.

With a final check in the mirror, I was ready.

I felt nervous as I waited for Raghav Ji to arrive. Though my husband had convinced me this was harmless, I still felt uneasy going shopping with his boss for his wife's gift. I tried to shake off my apprehension, reminding myself this was just a favor for a kind man.

Soon a sleek black car pulled up and Raghav Ji waved me over. "Bhabhi Ji You look lovely," he said, his eyes lingering as I got in. I thanked him politely, smoothing my kurti over my knees.

The ride to the boutique was filled with idle chatter about random things. Yet now and then Raghav Ji would compliment my appearance in a way that made me squirm. I began to regret agreeing to this outing.
