What shows up?
A Cleric
A larger than average man stepped into the alleyway. You could tell instantly that he was a cleric. And a new one too. He had on the traditional thick, brown robes they started with and what appeared to be a basic club tied to his waist. He also had the stupid monk ring haircut on his otherwise fairly handsome face. Overall, an easy target. In the past you had some success fighting a cleric, except he healed all the damage you did and eventually clubbed you over the head. But this time he wouldn’t even get the chance to offer an prayers!
The hero walked foolishly forward, barely even paying attention to what surrounded him. Maybe he was not expecting any enemies to hide from him. Which was fair. All the other alley thugs leaned up against the wall in plain view. The classic tough guy act. But that was for the birds.
Soon he passed by your hiding spot and you tried the same trick you used against the ranger. With a burst of you speed you raised up your new club and brought it down with both hands against the back of the clergyman’s head.
Does it work?
You come into being as a low-level monster, the kind heroes chew through like popcorn. You know the drill, whether you're a player yourself or an artificial intelligence, and you're sick of it. You set out on your own quest: to defeat the heroes at any cost (or at least be an epic boss somewhere down the line).
