A Call to Arms

You walk up to the stone platform, your footsteps echoing in the halls, as you approach Sybelle and kneel before her.

“Lady Glover.” You greet her formally “I have come to aid in the liberation of the North.” Declaring your intent.

“Liberation?” Sybelle Glover asked confused. “From the Iron born?”

You raise your head “From the Iron born and from House Bolton.” She looks at you wide eyed as everyone in the hall gasped or watched silently.

Sybelle composes herself “You speak a of bold declaration; Stannis Baratheon had liberated my home from the Iron men and now wages a war against them and the Bolton’s to stake a claim to the throne.” She points out “Who are you to declare the same? What can you offer, do you intend to challenge Stannis?”

Some of the Stormlander and Reach men, whose houses had declared for Stannis, watch you carefully, gripping their weapons. The atmosphere in the room becomes tense suddenly.

“No, if Stannis seeks to free the North from the grips of the Boltons and respects this kingdom then he is an ally.” You state openly “As for who I am...” you stand up “I am Dewey, I had won the tourney south, triumphed against the Mountain, and gained more gold than I could have imagined. I want to use it to help liberate and restore the North.”

There is a muttering across the halls, whispering about who you are.

Sybelle stands up “If what you are saying is true... then we shall be honoured to welcome your support.” She states “The Iron men have taken my children, the Bolton’s rule the North as tyrants under the rule of that abomination of **** who sits upon the Iron Throne.”

“As this keep as a stronghold we can plan against the Bolton’s, becoming a shining beacon to the other houses that we aren’t going to submit to their rule.” You add further, trying to continue lifting the mood and hopes of her and the people in the chamber.

“You speak of liberation from the Bolton’s, though it does break my heart that the North can not be as free as the Young Wolf fought for.” She states sadly.

“Maybe not, maybe we help Stannis but if we can restore the kingdom and possibly the Starks to Winterfell to rule peacefully and with honour that will be enough.” You argue firmly. “The time to contemplate and mourn over our losses is over, now is the time to seek justice and vengeance from those who had wronged us.”
