A Call from Work

It’s been two days now since Alexis lost the ability to wear clothes. Needless to say she spent the entire time hiding in her apartment. She knew that sooner or later she’d have to go outside but she wanted to wait as long as possible hoping that, the lunatic would come back and give her her clothes back. Unfortunately for her she’d be forced to go out.

Alexis was on her computer typing up some documents, fortunately for her, her job allowed her to work from home so she didn’t have to worry about getting fired, when all of a sudden her phone rang. “H-hello”, Alexis said sheepishly. “Alexis we have an emergency we need you to come into the office today!”, her boss yelled at her. Time froze for Alexis, asking an employee to come into work wouldn’t be such an unreasonable request but for Alexis who was now permanently naked this was obviously a problem. Alexis took a deep breath and tried to regain her composure, “Um sir I’m having a bit of a laundry issue right now so I’m not really decent.” Alexis prayed to whatever god would listen that her boss stay home. “That doesn’t matter this is too important. A big time client has asked for our if this deal goes through we could make millions. I’m calling everyone in right now from home so lots of people probably won’t be dressed appropriately for the work place. Heck you could probably come to work naked and we wouldn’t care.” ‘Well let’s hope he was serious about coming to work naked.’, Alexis joked to herself. “Anyway we really need you to come into can you get here in about an hour?” Alexis wanted to say ‘no’ so badly, but she knew saying no to the boss especially when it comes to big projects like this would be bad news for her career. So with a reluctance in her voice Alexis replied, “F-fine.” “Splendid I’ll see you in an hour.”

After the boss hang up Alexis let out a scream into a nearby pillow. After a minute of processing what just happened she realized she had no choice but to head to the office. Grabbing her purse and keys she stood at the door almost frozen in place as she opens the door.
