A Brave Male Hunter

Author's note: forget the previous intro as this thread is unrelated to Ravas and the others and is from a short-lived DnD campaign

You are a centaur descended from a particular island called Hestr Island. The island was a small island of just off the north coast of the mainland. It had a native Halfling population and all the domesticated animals were bred to be small and manageable by the Halflings. It was invaded and contoured by 7-foot tall Centaurs from the mountain which were your ancestors.

Through being affected by Island Dwarfism and later mating with the locals the 7-foot centaurs rapidly took on the bodies of the local Hestr ponies and the torsos of the Halflings. They became known as Hestr Centaurs. Their average high dropped to 4foot 8 or 1.5 M taller than the average Halfling but just a bit smaller than the average Human.

You, however, are tall for your sub-race at 5 foot 5. Your name is Gullfuxi you have long blond hair and a beard. Your coat is a creamy palomino. You wear leather barding on your flank and a leather breastplate on your human chest. The rest of your body is bare leaving your sheath sticking out between your hind legs.

The Centaurs of Hestr would send raiding parties to the mainland to acquire stuff they could not get on the island. They would take with them a Halfling companion who would ride on their back and fire a bow and use a lance, spear or sabre. The Centaurs riding companion would be the opposite Gender to the Centaur to create a balance and give a different perspective on the raids that could be useful and reduce injury and death.

On your first raid at the age of 18 your best friend and rider, Fay, was killed and your bow broken. You took the bow from your dead companion and fled with her still in the saddle. You got lost in the vast grasslands where you buried Fay along with her saddle as it was her most prized possession and only a hindrance to Gullfuxi in the grasslands. Lost and alone you Learnt the skills of a Ranger.

You befriended a Fox and called him Dax. Dax was smart and cunning but a bit forgetful. Dax gave you the nickname Gully as he could’t remember your full name. Together they trained and learnt to work as a team. However, Gullfluxi started longing for the company of more than just animals, ashamed to go home and with no boat anyway, together Gully and Dax headed to the nearest village.
