A Brave Betrayal

Chapter 6 by netorarefan

Suddenly the door creaked open. The shy petite girl's eyes widened when she saw the state Cordain was in but quickly softened with love when she saw how the whole situation had affected him. To Cordain, it was pathetic. To Illyana, he was very much a man who had desires that were different from the norm. She loved that he was different, and there was no way any amount of polyamory could change her love for him.

"Here's the gear. ninety five gold for it."

The gruff man interrupted them and held out a bag with the items. "And it'll be extra if you want the potions."

Cordain was surprised. "But you said you'd sell it to us at a discount if she... You know."

"She was worth a five gold discount. That's it. Now pay up." The man smirked, thinking he had the upper hand.

Cordain's slowly rose, his eyes darkening with anger. "Mm."

His simple acknowledgement felt like a storm brewing, his silence an intense pressure that both Illyana and the blacksmith noticed.

Illyana knew there was this side to Cordain. For the most part, he was gentle and caring. He was nice and treated everyone with respect, regardless of whether that person was a bloodthirsty murderer or a saint. As long as they treated him and Illyana fairly, he was all too happy to treat them the same way. But the moment someone crosses the threshold of disrespect, his eyes would change like they did now. This was not good.

The blacksmith didn't understand why. To him, he just took advantage of this young man and his woman. But he was about to learn that crossing this young man meant certain death.

In an instant, Cordain's sword was at the man's throat. "You lied to me." His voice was cold, deadly.

"I-I... I didn't! I... Said it it was a discount...! Please, just take it! I won't cause you trouble anymore." The blacksmith raised his hands in surrender.

"No, I don't want it. I want double what I was promised. Your choice whether you want my coin or your life." Cordain pressed the blade closer, drawing a bit of blood.

"F-fine! Just take it... Take the gear!" The man threw the bag at Cordain's feet, his hands shaking.

"Thank you." Cordain lowered his sword and sheathed it. He picked up the bag and grabbed Illyana's hand. "Let's go."

The couple walked out of the shop, leaving the blacksmith shaken and scared for his life. The look in Cordain's eyes had been pure rage, a side of him Illyana had only seen once before. She knew he would never hurt her, but she was glad she wasn't on his bad side.

"I'm sorry you had to see that Illy. I couldn't let him get away with cheating us like that."

She squeezed his hand. "It's okay, Cordain. You did the right thing." She paused, a smirk on her lips. "And... You got a good deal, too."

He looked at her, confused, and then realized what she meant. "You're right... I did." He chuckled, the tension in his body easing. "I guess you're worth more than just a five gold discount."

She blushed and leaned in to whisper in his ear. "Maybe he's right... Maybe I need more practice to be worth more than that..."

Cordain's eyes widened, his cock stirring once again. "Is that so? Well then, we'll just have to find someone else to... Help us with that."

"I'd like that. Let's find many more people to help." she said, her voice breathy and seductive.

With the sun starting to set, the couple made their way out of town, eager for their next adventure and whatever pleasures it may bring.
