A Botanical Beatdown

Vines whipped the air around Hana as the Shambling Mound attacked her with its tendrils, lengths of vine snapping past her body while it imposed its huge body against her. The Mound rushed forward, its body suddenly a botanical battering ram. Hana felt the breath leave her lungs before her own will to survive filled her, driving her back to her senses.

Being so close, the Shambling Mound reached out, trying to grab her with its vines. The first time she slipped away, but the next time it grabbed her was it, pulling her in close and constricting the breath out of her.

When she went limp she slid from its grasp, just before it could merge her into its biomass...
