A. The Human Lands

Lorina breathed in deeply as she let what she had to do wash over her. The sheer scale of the quest she was sent on leaning heavily on her mind. But she collected herself and stood upright. Walking towards the small lake that lay within the glade she washed her face then stared for a moment at her arm, it was tattooed, a long tattoo leading from her wrist all the way up her arm. She unhooked the loose leathers from her skin and stared into the lake.

The tattoo continued onto her front, ending by her heart, her right breast completely encased in it. She shook her head as she dressed herself, her body reacting strangely to what had been done to it. She felt hotter, strangely hot, and a quiet acceptance of this. "You did something to me..", she said softly, then gasped as she heard a voice in her mind. "I will help you Lorina...", it said, though it was clearly the demon it no longer had the same booming voice it once had.

Grabbing her weapon from the ground she quickly tied Tiber around her waist, the feeling of the blade a good one. Stepping away from her ancient lands she moved through the woods, dodging several patrols as she made her way east. Towards the Empire, the human lands.

As she finally breached the woods on the third day of her long trek Lorina still felt no sign of hunger in her belly, or felt parched for the thirst of water. She stared into the wide plains, the people there working for their chosen Counts and masters. Her people had already waged war once on the humans and they had almost extinguished each-other. She pulled her cowl up as she walked into the plains, moving towards the large hill she saw and the stone castle upon it.
