A 'Silly' Proposal (Updated)

It had been a routine ever since Axel had become ringmaster for the Lily Circus. She wasn't entirely sure

She would go through her spiel, turn around and find her girlfriend Giggles before her - down on one knee. No words, just a pie to her face. As ways to start out a show, it was effective. Even if it meant having to make a quick exit to wipe off the banana creme. Which was never quite cooked all the way for some reason. But that was something to bring up with the Circus's pastry chef.

Yes, she was dating a clown. It was far less weird than one would think it would be. When not standing under the big top, Giggles was a far different person. Chill, compassionate and most of all, loving. Wouldn't expect that out of a clown, but there it was.

But this time was different.

"Welcome to the Lily Circus!" Axel announced, the sound of heels of all things echoing under the big top. Not the usual clown shoes Giggles usually sported. "Here, we have the finest all girl show mo-"

She swiveled around, a double take following right after.

Giggles stood before her decked out in a fluorescent yellow wedding dress. Skirt flared out and decorated to the brim with lace and ribbon, ring box in her hand. No sign of a

"Giggles?"

The clown took a deep breath. Pulling the ringmaster down, their lips met. Quite the spectacle, if not for the whoopee cushion wedged in between them. The crowd was eating this all up, getting in the action themselves.

"You're beautiful when you're flustered." Giggles explained, slipping the ring on as Axel let out a low 'yes'. That was all she needed to hear. The real show could come after the performance when she got to play with some balloon animals.
