9. You and your boss review the first handful of candidates

You wander over to the conference room where you’ll be interviewing candidates. It’s an oak paneled room from the bank’s founding era with heavy doors and no windows. Your boss is already there and you see a stack of folders in front of the chair next to him. You go to sit by them and he nods.

The first rounds are impressive applicants, but not knockouts in any sense of the word. You take a break for coffee before the next round.
