7. She says what she’s thinking.

Sophie whispers, “I feel like I want to kiss someone.”

You smile, “Someone? Who?”

She pauses still hesitant to say the name, “Li, Mr. Turner.”

You stand up from your crouch next to her. “Well Miss Porter, what do you feel right now?”

Li smiles and bends gracefully down. Her fingers intertwine with Sophie’s rich, silky tresses as she tilts the other girl’s face up to meet hers. Their lips touch gently. Sophie’s eyes flutter close, savoring the sensation. As a gasp escapes, Li bites softly on her classmate’s lip. Sophie hums quietly. Li draws the other girl up to stand in front of her. Li holds Sophie close. Sophie doesn’t seem experienced in being with another girl, but Li certainly is.

The two girls are fully in a world of their own. They kiss slowly. Li drinks the moment in; this seems to have been something she’d wanted for some time. Sophie is hesitant but you watch her shed that feeling in real time. She returns Li’s embrace, pressing herself into her classmate like their kiss was breathing life into her.
