Chapter 18
by Myocastor_Coypus
No, you may not escape, you cowardly scum.
61
The beast is dead, but you’re not that far off from dropping yourself. Exhausted, you let yourself drop to the floor to take a little weight off your limbs. The red lights fade slowly around you, and the air stays thick and difficult to breathe into your lungs for a long time. By the time you notice your body changing it’s too late to get away. You hear Elia call your name and ask if you killed the demon before the whole world fades.
Yet you are still not done. You feel as though you’re floating in a void. Your body is shifting irrevocably around you, flesh rearranging itself, bones growing, changing shape, hardening, wounds vanishing as skin closes and coarsens over them. Yet your thoughts are your own. At least, they are until a strange alien presence starts creeping in. Determined to die rather than lose your soul, you muster all your will together to fight the intruding ****.
Roll two dice. If you roll anything more than 10, turn to 54. If you more than 6 and up to 9, turn to 216. If you roll 5 or lower, turn to 333.
