Chapter 11 by reaper13
What are the results of the referendum?
58% oppose vs 42% support
The next couple of days Michael reported to Eve that none of the committee member could be found guilty. The day of the incident all of them were either crunching the numbers of the diversity Wednesday attendees or they were studying in their dorms. Each of them also has a couple friends to back up their alibi’s.
In the days before the referendum The Mandatory diversity committee used this as a false flag operation instigated by the oppose side. Those who opposed the mandate then defended themselves by suggesting it was a lone wolf who acted on his own and they denounced his actions. Sadly, nobody could discover his identity.
The day of the referendum itself becomes a very rowdy one. There were pockets of students spread all over the campus, support and oppose alike, each of them with megaphones shouting at students passing by.
On the oppose side there are a lot of white men, claiming religious values to oppose the mandate.
There also a couple of black women, claiming the mandate is nothing more than a sexualisation of black people.
Amongst them are also a couple of Arabian women, suggesting that the mandate would **** them to act dishonorably to their religion and their family.
On the support side however white girls are on the foreground. The women said it is time for racism to end, stop white privilege and accept their other-racial brothers and sisters.
Together with them stood a large number of black men, often holding the hands of these girls to show union between colors.
When the voting booths closes the student council counted the votes, then delivered the results to both the student council president, the members of The Mandatory Diversity Committee as well as the leaders of the Oppose faction.
White male students opposing 84.2%, those in support 15.8%.
White female students opposing 40.5%, those in support 59.5%.
Black male students opposing 11.2%, those in support 88.8%.
Black female students opposing 50.6%, those in support 49.4%.
Asian male students opposing 65%, those in support 35%.
Asian female students opposing 21.4%, those in support 78.6%.
Arab male students opposing 25%, those in support 75%.
Arab female students opposing 78.0%, those in support 22%.
Latino/ native American male students opposing 29.5%, those in support 70.5%.
Latino/ native American female students opposing 70%, those in support 30%.
Total number of students 32740 opposing 57.7%, those in support 42.3%.
The committee cheered at these results, claiming diversity Wednesday had given them a 4.3% increase.
The oppose party suggested the questionnaire where everything started with probably had a 5% margin of error.
For Eve, a decision needs to be made.
She can give the go-ahead for another white girl Wednesday and hope it will swing favor to the support side. Or she can accept this referendum as the one and only and prevent the mandate from coming into practice.
What should Eve do?
