What Happens Now?
2 years later...
2 years later...
I am now a senior in Pharos Academy, one year of hopefully becoming a Beacon student and eventually a hunter like my brother. Dad, Glenn, and I are walking down a dirt road in the middle of the forest as the sun begins to set.
"Should we camp here?" I asked.
"Not now. A few more miles maybe." Dad answered. "You sense anything Glenn?"
"No, dad. So far no signs of Grimm." Glenn replied. "No animals either actually."
"Oh... Yin, stay close to me." Dad ordered me as he pulled me close.
"Huh? What's going on?" I asked worriedly.
"Do you think? Wait-!" Glenn asked before the silent woods were filled with the sounds of hooves and the neigh of horses. "Is that!?"
"Stay close sons! I don't want to lose sight of you." The once dawn quickly became as dark as a moonless night, even though it was supposed to be a full moon today.
"Yin! Father! I can't see you!" Glenn's voice seemed to be distant. How could he leave so quickly?
"Glenn! Call ba-! Agh!" Just then a beowolve slashed dad's back, thankfully dad had his aura on. "Argh! Yin, together we must fight through this night and pack to find Glenn!" I took out your weapon, a regular sword more meant to be used for training than combat, and readied for battle.
The grimm fought wildly yet orderly at the same time, their attacks unpredictable but always in a group. This has to lead to me only defeating one while dad killed several. "All that is left is the Alpha. Whatever has made this darkness must be fighting Glenn as we speak. We must hurry!"
That you did, you attacked its legs and arms to weaken it for dad to kill. Dad was about to deal the finishing blow before he was knocked back by the Alpha's howl, thus left you to pierce its mouth and kill it.
Just then the darkness cleared leaving the forest lighted by the moon and fireflies. "Well done Yin. Now we must find Glenn." My dad said. You nodded at that.
"Ahhh!" I hear a voice cry.
"Glenn!" Dad and I shout as we ran in the direction.
There we found a horrifying sight, Glenn's severed arm clutching his sword. We rushed over to it and dad kneeled next to it. A sound could be heard from the bush, a begin to head there when my dad shouts.
"Stop!" Dad ordered making me stop and the sound to rush away.
"Why did you stop me, dad? I had him." I asked him.
"I do not wish to lose another son today. Don't let Glenn's sacrifice be in vain son. " My dad pleaded to me.
"Sacrifice?" I ask.
"He could've run away, but he chose to stay to help us. He died a true hero's ****." Dad further explained to me.
"A true hero's ****? This is no hero's ****! This is ****! Don't act like this is more than it is!" I shouted at him.
"Yin, do not insult Glenn's ****!" Dad yelled at me.
"Pah. Don't ever dare say I insult him, father." I spat back.
"I am heading home with Glenn's arm and sword. Come back when you got your head on straight." Father ordered me. I shook my head as he walked home, carrying Glenn's sword and arm.
