The 1980s. Bad fashion, questionable music and a lot of hot celebrities for John to take **** on. John focused his mind on the time period and closed his eyes. When he opened them again, things where very different. He looked out the window and saw a lot of old model cars that looked brand new. He also saw a lot of ridiculously colorful clothing that nobody would be caught dead wearing in his time.

It worked!

Now all he had to do was pick a celebrity from this time period.
