Chapter 7

Are you able to change back?
16: Well it changed something back.
I looked back down into the water and breathed a sigh of relief as my bust started to shrink, and my body started to take on more masculine proportions. Well, as masculine as an elf could be. I still looked somewhat feminine, namely around the face with my ocean blue eyes and full golden hair, but at least I had a flat chest again.
My new body was slender yet toned, which I certainly didn’t mind, and hopefully, neither would the girls back home. This new pretty boy look was sure to turn a few heads though I might have to do something about the ears.
I turned back to the dice and roiled it again, this time asking it to take me back home, but shortly after hitting the ground, it stopped and, much to my surprise, roiled to a one on its own. It didn’t glow like last time, and nothing bad happened, so I decided to risk trying it again. Same result, it landed on a seven but quickly roiled over to one. Was this its way of saying I was stuck here? At least I was able to get a better body out of this, but still, I needed to get back home.
I tried three more times but then stopped, all ending with the same result, before I gave up and placed the dice into my pouch. I stood up and took a quick look around at my surroundings. I was in a jungle next to a river that was being fed by a waterfall. I could hear the sounds of animals and insects nearby, along with the sound of running water. Not a trace of civilization, just jungle for as far as the eye could see.
I decided to follow the river to see where it would lead. At best, It could lead me to a nearby village or perhaps a road. At worst, it would find the ocean, or maybe some editable fruit. I must have traveled for an hour with no sign of intelligent life. I had been transported to this world into an elf’s body. Surely there had to be other elves running around who could tell me where I was.
I was just about to stop for a rest when I spotted what looked like a wooden boat on the other side of the river. I dove into the water and swam across with a great deal more ease than I was used to. Once I got to the boat, I was hoping to find signs of life, perhaps I could find the original owner, but once I looked inside, all I saw was a large hole in the bottom and a lot of mold. Clearly, this had been here for a while. Still, the boat could be useful with some patchwork, of the magical kind, of course. At worst, the dice would just rot the boat away into nothing or turn it into a fire-breathing dragon, given how my day has been.
