11. You get both of them alone.

Hours later, back at the male teacher’s house, you look up from a book to realize that only Jeff Graves, Bill Jordan, and you remain in the common room. You stand up and find your way to a wing-back chair near both of them.

“Good evening gentlemen,” they nod to acknowledge your presence. “I hear from Aster and Emmy that we three have something in common.”

Jeff’s eyes go wide. He and Aster must have had some arrangement to maintain discretion. Bill raises an eyebrow. His arrangement seems to have been less strictly secretive.

“I have no idea–” begins Jeff.

“Can it, Graves.” Bill cuts in. “I jog past the math building. I know Aster’s good, but I didn’t think she’d distract you so much you’d miss a runner.”

Jeff looks terrified that you’re about to out his secret beyond the three of us.

“Listen,” you begin, “as I said we have something in common. And I think we all enjoy what we have in common.”

This seems to calm Jeff. His affair with Aster Erikson over the summer is safe. Bill nods along with you.

“So,” you continue, “I thought it might be worth sharing what we know.

There’s a moment of silence before Bill pipes up: “Look, I get to see a lot of the juniors. And Dave, you know the twins in your Speech and Debate class? They’re going to be legal soon.”

Jeff nods: “it really was a one time thing with me and Aster. And I know I shouldn’t have, but… well, you two know the joys of the Westwood student bodies.”
