Chapter 4
by AJameson
What year is it?
105 A.C. (Queen Aemma is still alive)
By this point in time, Viserys has been king for about two years. You have heard tell that his wife, Queen Aemma, is expecting their second child. In truth, they might have had many more children apart from their first daughter, Rhaenyra, by now, if not for a string of miscarriages and stillbirths.
You find yourself hoping that this birth will be a smooth one. Even if the royal family's affairs are none of your business, you would not wish the pain of losing a child on anyone.
Anyway, once you pass through the gates, you begin to look around for work. Thankfully, as large as the city is and as many skills as you possess, there is no shortage of ways you may earn your keep.
You could head to the Street of Steel and lend your forging skills to the blacksmiths
Alternatively, you can make for the Street of Silk and lend your sewing skills to the seamstresses and dressmakers
There is also the harbor, where you could aid the shipwrights and sailors with their vessels.
Or you could just head to Flea Bottom and look around for work there.
Where do you go?
