Edalyn, my dear sister…
We have not always seen eye to eye, and I have a lot to make up for the things I’ve done to you. Edalyn, Eda... I can’t tell you how sorry I am for the things I’ve done. I know that there are no words I could possibly say that could make up for what I’ve done. But I hope that this contract helps you find someone who will love you and look after you.
This is why I ask that the contract have these stipulations in mind.
Whoever is to marry Edalyn Clawthorne,
- Must do so with a full understanding of her curse and must possess the drive to want to help her.
- Must be well off in order to better look after her and her condition brought on by the curse.
- Must also have the patience and wisdom to deal with Edalyn’s incessant and often insane schemes.
- Finally, they must also possess an understanding of curses and must know of several individuals who could help alleviate the curse placed upon Edalyn.
If such a man meets all these stipulations and conditions, then they have my full consent as the head of the Clawthorne Family to marry my sister, Edalyn Clawthorne, in holy matrimony. No matter how Eda feels about it.
