Adrian

The protagonist. He suffers from a degenerative disease, and to cure himself he has struck a deal with a devil. He has agreed to serve as its knight, advancing its interests here on Earth. The position comes with some perks, and some downsides. Him and the six squires he inadvertently bound to himself will need to find a way to deal with their new enemies, and the influence of the spirits in Araqiel's court on their bodies and minds.

She met Adrian at her job in a coffee shop, where he is a regular, and the two have a sort of informal friendship.

Although she looks down on the men who use her services, it is easy work that she doesn't mind doing. Adrian contracted her as part of the ritual that would summon Araqiel.
