“Jeff called me cute.”

“Jeff called me cute.” You say while looking at the ground a bit flushed. You bite your lips as you wait for your sister's reaction. You hear her trying to hold in her laughter. But then she couldn’t handle it anymore and just starts laughing. “Baha, Jeff? Holy shit dude! Are you sure that he was hitting on you? He might have just been complimenting you.” She says while slapping your back.

Come to think of it. Your sister is kind of right. How did you know that Jeff meant it that way? You start to panic inside. Was Jeff hitting on you? Or did you just take it that way and twisted it. Jeff is a sweetheart but it is hard to tell. You start sweating bullets.

Rachel seeing you nervous made her smile deviously. “I might just go over and ask Jeff himself…” She says devilishly. You know what your sister's trying to do. She's trying to emotionally **** you into doing something.

You let out a sigh and look at her. “What is it?” You say, just wanting to get it over with. But something seems a bit different about Rachel. She was blushing? You were surprised yourself when her face became red. You see her biting her lips thinking about something. She then let out a sigh and looks at you seriously.

“Can I have a hug from you?” She quietly says. At first, you thought this was one of her pranks. You were waiting for a punchline to happen. Second, your head went in a completely different direction. You thought she going to make you do something for her. But instead, she asked for a hug?

You see her arms open up and she waits for you to hug her. So, you did, you went and hugged your sister. It has been a while since you have done this with your sister. To the point where the only time you hugged your sister was in elementary.

“You know I’m joshing with you right? Look I really do care about you. Like a lot actually…:” she says trailing off a bit. “But enough about me. I really do love you, Ash. Even if I don’t show it…” She says as she kisses your cheek.

You both then back off from one another. “Why the hug?” You asked confused. Your sister nervously scratches her neck. “I… Just wanted a hug. Yeah! Uh, see you later loser.” She says quickly. She then quickly heads towards the cafeteria.

You stood there confused still wondering why she wanted a hug. Then it hit you like a truck, your sister just kissed you on your cheek, she also told you that she loves you. Your face becomes red. You immediately become flustered; obviously, she just meant it as a sister… Right? You don’t want to go into that territory, so you quickly walk to your lunch table.
