Chapter 10 by Pooperman Pooperman

With a couple of seconds left, she had to make a choice.

“Fingers!” she said.

Ding!

“Congratulations, Alice!” Laura said. “That is the correct answer. Since you’re still standing by the wheel, why don’t you give it another spin?”

“Yes!”

“Alright, give it a spin.”

She reached for the wheel and spun it. She could hear the buzz of the crowd and the clacking of the wheel as it slowed and came to a stop.

“For eighty-five thousand, you will have to hit the bullseye on a dartboard with a dart.”

Alice gulped. She knew this was a very difficult challenge. Still, she knew she’d have to give it her best shot. She walked over to the mark on the floor from where she would throw the darts. One of the stagehands handed her a dart.

“Alice,” Laura asked, “are you ready to begin?”

“I’ll give it my best,” she answered.

She took a deep breath and looked at the dartboard. It was round and set on a stand about five paces away from her. She tightened her thumb and forefingers around it and took aim at the center of the target. She drew her arm back and let the dart fly.

Did the dart hit?
