Does he agree?
[Suspicion>=75] Jamie's response
Several different expressions appeared on Jamie's face in short order. Pain, confusion, anger and finally resolve.
"You must think I'm stupid," he said looking down into his lap.
"What? No," I said weakly.
"All the signs have been there," he continued. "I've just ignored them. So many little things that haven't been adding up. Each of them alone explained away easily enough, but the weight of them all together Emily...."
I could only sit there in silence.
"You're already sleeping with someone aren't you? You're just asking me to accept that you're going to continue cheating on me..."
"I'm so sorry," I said. My was voice breaking, barely a whisper. After all my lying, I was unable to deny it when confronted directly with the truth.
"Yeah, well I'm sorry too," he whispered. He sounded broken. "I really believed you were the one Em." Tears were running down his face. "I saw a future were we married and bought little house and had kids and grew old together..." I felt my heart breaking.
"Why?" he said after a long unbearable silence.
"I don't know," I said weakly. Another lie. I did know, but I knew the truth would hurt him even more.
"I hope you find out Em," giving me a bitter smile through his tears. "I hope you find happiness, but it won't be with me."
Unable to face him any longer, I stood up and silently walked out of his life forever.
